The location of the house is absolutely beautiful. Surrounded by nature, with a stunning view, including a direct sunrise view of the temple from the bed. Although the access involves some steps and isn’t reachable by tuk-tuk, you can still get to Ella very quickly. The family is extremely friendly and offers several services; we only used the laundry service, which was excellent (very clean and fresh).

It was the most beautiful stay of this trip. I have to thank their entire family for helping me with my backpack so I could reach their wonderful home, located in a completely natural setting. I was able to disconnect for a whole day and enjoy the wonders of this world. I highly recommend it ❤️

We had an amazing time at the Hidden Slope Cottage. The view from the room was exceptional (what a treat!). I wish I could wake up here everyday. Chamila and her family took great care of us and helped us to plan 2 amazing days in Ella. The cooking class hosted by Chamila was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The full body couples massage they organised for us was incredible. The property is super close to the train station.

This place is tucked right in the middle of a tea plantation, with an incredible view of a majestic Buddhist monastery perched on the mountain just across. At night, the room filled with fireflies — they actually made their way in and looked like little LEDs on the ceiling. Even though it’s close to the touristy part of Ella, it’s surprisingly peaceful. Getting there involves a bit of a hike, but it’s totally worth it. And don’t miss the banana pancake for breakfast — seriously good. What really made the stay unforgettable was the host. He helped carry our backpacks and our kids, always checked in to see if we needed anything, and spoke excellent English. Just a genuinely kind and thoughtful person.

We loved the location and view from Hidden Slope Cottage! It was a short walk from the train station and main street in Ella. The hosts were friendly, offering tea on arrival and provided breakfast/dinner upon request. If you are looking for a peaceful play to stay with an amazing view, highly recommend!

if you’re looking for quiet and remote place with amazing view this is it! Be aware there’s a lot of insects and you have to walk through steep field so you have to carry your suitcase.

“A cozy cottage with a beautiful view”

It was a fantastic stay in a beautiful location. The host was just incredible! As the train to Ella was delayed, he waited for us in the rain on the side of the road for ages, to show us a way to the cottage. He then cooked us a delicious late-night meal and continued cooking for us every day of our stay. The cottage has hot water and is comfortable, and the view is just stunning! We really didn't like the vibe and noise of Ella but as the cottage is situated slightly out of town, we felt like we were in a different place, surrounded by the hills and monkeys rather than karaoke nights and drunken partygoers. We recommend the cottage to everyone who's after a peaceful stay in nature.

“Little cute remote hut”

Nice, very remote little hut in a wonderful green garden, with a smashing view into a beautiful green valley. With a little luck I spotted monkeys in the trees around, and porcupines between the tea plants on the way above the hut. It is a very reasonable price and it is a simple, clean place. I liked it!

It exceeded my expectations. You are in the middle of a tea plantation WOW!!!, sooo quiet and still so close to the train station. An absolute gem. This place is highly recommended :-) This is the place to stay in Ella :-)

The view was excellent and the cottage was on it's own, so no noisey neighbours. No noise from the road as the cottage was far enough away for comfort, but not too far to walk. The owner was always very helpful and friendly. He provided food whenever I asked for it, which saved me going to a restauarant. I woud recommend this property.

It is a beautiful, remote place which is still ion walking distance from Ella. Amazing view on the stupa across the valley, birds and nature around. The hosts were really helpful and friendly. The nights were fresh which for being in hot Sri Lanka was a real blessing.

A charming me time place that is nestled in a tea plantation. Exceptionally kind and ready to help with anything host family. I spent a relaxing week there. The place is perfect for fit people who are willing to climb quite a few flights of stairs. The family will cook meals for you if you wish and you can ask for any specific meal or ingredients. Thank you Chintaka, Tissa, Chamilla and little Tihansa for being a family to me during my stay. I hope to see you all again very soon.
