Chandy and her family were so welcoming and helpful, their breakfasts were amazing and hospitality was faultless. We had such a comfortable and enjoyable stay with them. The room was spotless, private and spacious. The accommodation is in such a beautiful part of Ella, with amazing views and only a short trip into the main town. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Quiet and beautifully located and still in walking distance to the Centre with Cafés and Restaurants and Ella railway station. Breakfast with a great view on monkeys and birds. Very kind and helping owner.

Chandy was delightful. So warm and welcoming. She has set up a great place to stay with plenty of space and a nice outdoor area, secluded and a lovely cup of tea and ginger cookies on arrival and some great help when deciding what to do.

Everything

We liked everything. The garden, Harvey the dog. The jungle with monkeys and big squirrels. Chanty was a great host, nothing was too much. Her husband brought us to several places with the tuktuk. The room was super clean and spacious.

The bed is the most comfortable bed we had in Sri Lanka. Close enough to town but no in the middle of the noise of Ella. Lovely family running this place. Very close to the waterfall.

Lovely comfortable homestay. Good location out of Ella in a rural setting but within walking distance of the town. This homestay is close to the railway line for easy access to walks / hikes. We felt well looked after by this family and they were happy to answer lots of questions. Breakfast was also varied and delicious.

Always reflecting on value for money, this establishment is of a high standard. Great advice, service and comfort, are forefront in my recollection.

Chandy the owner was absolutely delightful. She took excellent care of us! Wonderful homemade breakfast prepared by her in the mornings full of tea/coffee, fresh fruit, toast, eggs, and coconut roti. Nice comfortable accommodations with a large outdoor area in a private setting with a view of the waterfall.

Immaculately clean , spacious -very large private outside space. Brand new , comfiest bed in 7 weeks , beautifully presented breakfast. Very quiet. Its high up in the hills ( a few minutes in a tuk tuk). We chose this as we had the benefit of tbe lively town and a quiet place to sleep

Location was perfect, away from the the Main Street but backs onto the mountains. Can see the waterfall from the balcony. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was spotless. A highlight is definitely the private balcony area to relax in the sound of the jungle. The hosts were amazing, Chandy and her family were incredibly helpful and provided an excellent breakfast.

Best accomodation we had in Sri Lanka:) Very clean and comfortable. The host is friendly and responsive.

Wonderful place. Chandy the lady of the house was so helpful in everything. Lovely breakfast and great characterful room in very rural setting with clear view of little Rawena Ella waterfall. Seems very tricky to get to if you come by car but it’s actually only an interesting 15 mins walk to town. Owners will happily give you a lift in. Urban Roots is a great little hut restaurant only a few mins walk away

“The most wonderful homestay”

We had the loveliest time here - Happy Horizon Homestay does what it says on the tin! We stayed here over a month ago and we still think about our time here. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka and was prepared with such care. The owners are so unbelievably kind and have created such a special homestay 🌞

Staying at Happy horizon homestay was an absolute pleasure. Chandy, the host was so lovely, helpful and welcoming and made a great breakfast in the morning. She even catered to my vegan needs! The room was lovely and clean, and the accommodation is in a beautiful and peaceful location. It is a little out of Ella town and up a steep hill, but my partner and I could walk there in 15 minutes and Chandys husband would take you down to the town in his tuk tuk for free! The road to the accommodation is narrow and steep so just something to consider (especially if you have lots of luggage/suitcases) but for us it wasn’t much of a problem. We would love to come back next time we’re in Sri Lanka! :)

An oasis of calm set in a beautiful location amidst scenery to die for. Chandy and her husband couldn’t have done more to make our visit go well. The breakfast was just perfect too.

Bestest place; wonderful room, excellent service, top location, fantastic breakfast, cannot speak highly enough.
