The view from the rooms over the mountains is truly beautiful! The owner is very welcoming. The Sri lankan breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The walk to the town is wonderful. A stay I highly recommend. Thank you very much!

“Friendly host, beautiful views, and a perfect location”

We had a really memorable stay at Back of Beyond’s Junior Resort. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the setting is truly stunning – a remote, peaceful location where you really feel immersed in nature. The team organised an excellent safari for us in Yala National Park, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable, which made the experience even more special. The tents were cosy and comfortable, and we all slept well, with the fans keeping things cool and a lovely sea breeze coming through. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was a real highlight, and we weren’t bothered by insects at night. That said, the tents could do with a little maintenance. In both tents our group used, the doors didn’t fully close and there were some small holes in the mosquito nets. It didn’t detract too much from our stay, but it’s something to be aware of. The food was delicious throughout, and the team did a great job accommodating our group’s dietary preferences, including preparing non-spicy options for the children and providing vegetarian choices. Overall, this is a rustic, back-to-nature experience with plenty of charm. A great choice if you’re looking to switch off and enjoy being surrounded by the wild.

“Nice room with perfect views”

Nice room with a spacious terrace giving a wonderful view of Ella rock and Little Adam’s Peak. Nimal is a very kind and helpful host. He prepared us a very tasty breakfast every morning. Just 10 minutes walk to center of Ella along tracks. Definitely recommend!

“Lovely Host, an Amazing Stay”

Host Nimal is so warming and very helpful with organising drivers and directing you around Ella and its surrounds. The breakfast provided was amazing particularly Nimal’s pancakes! The rooms are very clean and tidy. I would definitely be coming back to Nimal’s Nest Inn.

The Location was Perfect, Located just Short distance from Ella. It was quiet and serene. Beautiful views overlooking the mountains. Nimal was a perfect host, attentive and friendly. He offered all the best advice on what to do in Ella. The breakfast he prepared in the morning was delicious and good start to our day. Beds were comfortable. Nimal place was clean and well maintained. We would definitely be back here again.

“Lovely guest house in the hills of Ella”

Loved the staff, the view from our top floor room, the bed and the balcony. Getting to it can be a little difficult however Mr Nimal has a Tuk tuk which he helps with. About a 15min walk from the main road which is great as you are away from the hustle of the city.

Excellent views and breakfast. Very friendly. You might need a tuk tuk for the last part of the journey because the road up is narrow and steep.

Nimal is very attentive and has a heart of gold, his laugh and happiness is really infectious. For those guests who value kindness to feel home at a place, something u won’t find that easy anywhere else, this is ur homestay. Apart from that, he helped us with all our hikes and was very welcoming and always friendly! (Stayed 4 nights) The view from our appartment was breathtaking- loved it! Walking up here is magic. Warm water in the shower helps to fight the rainy days. Room is very clean and big. Breakfast was very tasty, we asked for Dhal and we got it the next morning, the best we had in SriLanka :) Tucked away in peaceful, lush nature but short walking distance 8 mins to the Center.

Fantastic location with superb views from our balcony but what makes this place really great is the hospitality - very attentive hosts . Nimal gave us great advice for our walk to nine arch bridge & little Adam’s peak , also arranged a last minute guide for us to Ella rock . Would happily stay here again .

“Beautiful views and a wonderful host”

The property is set on the hills with stunning views across to little Adam’s peak. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. There was a fridge stocked with water and soft drinks if we wished to have them, this was a very nice touch. Nimal was a fantastic host, kind, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. If we were to visit Ella again we were be very happy to stay at Nimal nest!

We had an amazing stay in Ella, thanks to our wonderful host Nimal. He was incredibly friendly, kind, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts at the accommodation every morning, and one of the highlights was the cooking class he hosted for us. Nimal went above and beyond to help us plan our days in Ella and even booked transport for us, which made everything so easy and stress-free. He was extremely accommodating and genuinely cared about making our stay special. We couldn’t recommend staying here more highly.

Very good location - great view and also close to the city via a shortcut across the railway tracks. Very friendly and helpful owner - he lent us umbrellas and quickly arranged transport when we really needed it. Very tasty breakfasts and good room amenities - fridge, coffee, tea, air conditioning and fan. Comfortable beds.

“Perfect accomodation in Ella!”

Nice clean room at a safe, quiet location very close to town (maximum 10 minutes walk), really nice view from the bed with mosquito net and also from the sunny private balcony which has cozy beanbags, a table and two chairs. good warm shower, hairdryer, free tea, minibar, hammocks on extra terrace, perfect breakfast, good tips for the surrounding activities and most important: a really welcoming and friendly host!!

“Nimal is the hightlight of this place!”

Nimal is the kindest host and provides a personable service. He accompanied us to make sure our tuktuks were working everyday and even messaged us the evening that we left because he knew we were travelling a long distance. The breakfast is generous with hoppers and fruit, however when we mentioned we like curry, he made us jackfruit curry and dahl which was too kind. The room was spacious for four adults and had everything we needed.

Loved our stay at Nimal Nest Inn! It is in a good location, it is very peaceful with mountain views, and about a 5 minute drive from the main street. The room was comfortable and clean. Nimal was an excellent host, he made a lovely breakfast for us and was very accomodating. Would recommend!
