“Amazing jungle experience in central Ella”

Amazing location!! Right amongst the nature but close to Ella town and some great restaurants. Facilities were great considering the remote location - comfortable bed and hot shower. Hosts were very attentive and organised breakfast and laundry.

“Close to Nature”

A cosy cottage overlooking the nature , the view from the balcony is superb , we could see the train as well from the balcony . Room is adapted for chilly weather. Hosts were always fast to respond to any queries and help on WhatsApp.

What a special place! It’s a luxury to sit on the terrace and enjoy breakfast watching the wild life, monkeys, birds, deers in the jungle The lodge/wooden structures are really nicely made: charming, spacious and comfortable. You hear the outside, be it the restaurant playing music or the frogs making sound. For us it was perfect as it offers an immersive experience in nature and is also close to everything. The service was top and we were really well taken care of.

“A very special stay with lovely people away from the bustle of Ella”

My stay here was one of my favourite things about Ella - the lodge nestled in a slice of jungle with the monkeys is a truly unique experience and the manager Ashen couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and just so genuinely nice! We felt extremely well cared for throughout our stay - the breakfasts were great too and super filling and the cinnamon tea was lovely - the room (number 1) is simple but very spacious and well designed. Thoroughly recommend but be prepared for a bit of monkey activity on the roof!

My husband particularly loved this stay. We had monkeys and hornbills on our veranda and saw mongoose and deer below. The facilities were a bit basic for me. The staff were incredibly helpful. Location to town was good.

You sleep with a jungle view in a quiet location, but still close to the center of Ella. The balcony, the breakfast, the welcoming and super nice hosts, the wooden room, everything was perfect. Would like to visit again.

Quirky, rustic cabin on the side of the steep hill. Amazing outlook onto the “jungle”. Wildlife all around with birds & monkeys to watch all day. Felt like a being in a safari hut, especially with the wildlife noises at night. The staff were fantastic. Helped with everything. There are only 3 cabins so no reception - everything is by WhatsApp which works perfectly. Location is in the middle of Ella but up a big hill. Approaching it along the railway line is much easier than the steep hill walk.

Be in the middle of natures with monkeys swinging around your cabin. Wake up with a delicious breakfast on your balcony and just enjoy the peacefulness of nature and watch the monkeys. It is still walkable to the city center but it feels like you’re in a completely different world. Ashen, the host offered me to do a tour toghether on motorbike to see the surroundings of Ella. Been to the waterfalls and had a swim, the temple and Little Adams Peak. This guy is amazing, knows the spots and we had a good laugh!

“Be aware: The management don’t care about you — they only want your money.”

Be aware: The management don’t care about you — they only want your money. The hotel only accept cash. You can’t pay for your lodge with a bank card. Reason: The management don’t want to pay the bank card commission. Every morning before sunrise a group of monkeys is travelling over the lodge. This is normal in the forest. The problem is that to save money the management has built the lodge with a thin corrugated metal roofing. When the monkeys are running over the corrugated metal roofing it sounds like you are inside a thunderstorm! The only positive thing is the staff. They will make you a good breakfast in the morning and they will provide all the information you need about Ella and the surrounding tourist sights. // Niklas

“Unique place near everything Ella has to offer”

The lodge gives this place a real jungle vibe. Sitting outside and observing the monkeys was a good way to relax. Rooms are basic (as you can expect in a lodge), but clean and have all you need. You go for the view/feel. Despite not having a reception or central building, staff (Ashen) was quick to react, friendly and helpful. They also offer dinner and breakfast options which are really nice.

A friendly ecolodge, a little away from the hustle and bustle from the main street. The staff is really friendly, you can ask for free tea or coffee during your stay.

Location is very good, little walk to main road. While the lodge feels right in the jungle. Staff is very friendly and helpful, even gave us some herb tea when we were a bit sick.
