Unfortunately they had double booked so canceled our stay very last minute, they messaged on WhatsApp explaining they had also booked with hostel world so canceled our stay. Very disappointed

“A peaceful jungle retreat near Ella, offering open-air accommodation and a true escape into nature.”

A really wonderful place in nature, almost in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful views, and you sleep in open spaces where you’re separated from the surroundings only by a curtain. Those who may have issues with insects or other possible small visitors might find this a bit challenging. The property is very nicely maintained and offers a common area for socializing, a fire pit, and a small pool. Lunch or dinner can also be arranged with prior notice. The owners are friendly and helpful, and they’re happy to drive you to the main road by jeep if you wish (the road is in very poor condition and access by car is not possible). A tuk-tuk can also reach the property, but be prepared for an adrenaline-filled ride. Overall, it’s an excellent place for a complete disconnect in nature and an experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Exceptional location, away from the tourist crowds of Ella. I even extended my stay because the place is so pleasant. It’s a bit challenging to get there, and even harder to leave once you’ve experienced it — you’ll understand when you go. Access by scooter is possible as long as you’re comfortable riding and have basic riding skills.

I can not recommend this hostel enough!🩷 The location is just stunning, the hostel set up is so special and very unto the detail. The area is so quite and the views are just stunning. They probably have the most beautiful dorm i ever stayed in. Beds are comfortable and the shower is warm as well. The owner and also the staff are really friendly and helpful about everything you ask for. The food served is really delicious, especially the breakfast. Free water refill is also available. The hostel is located around 30 minutes from town with the tuk tuk, but they have the best driver who is always there to pick you up and drive you where you wanna go.

Nice hostel in beautiful surroundings! The food here is delicious and the owner Sham is very friendly, helpful and nice to talk to. She also offers tours of the different places in Ella. This place js great for someone who wants to stay outside the busy center of Ella.

If you're overwhelmed by the sheer number of tourists in Ella, then this is a perfect escape from the tourist town. The stay will organise the transport for a much cheaper cost than you would get anywhere in ella. The dorm has a killer view since it's open from one side directly to the mountains.

They put so much love and creativity in this place. Beautiful vision. So peaceful. The view is stunning. You can walk to a waterfall. It is not far from Ella.

“Beautiful but not for me”

I’m very conflicted with this review because it’s a beautiful place with an amazing view! The staff were so nice and the free breakfast was delicious! The bed being open to the elements is just not for me, as I’m very sensitive to insects and animals crawling around me at night. I could barely sleep because of that. The location is also really difficult to get to, down a very rocky road which is very tough on a moped or Tuktuk. I would have also loved a small fan by the bed as it got too hot on the first night. I still think it’s a lovely place and perfect if you are adventurous and don’t care about insects!

What a hidden paradise in the mountains outside of Ella. Lovely team which helps you with everything. I was feeling sick during my stay but they did everything so help me. Thank you Dream Ville!

“Best time-out in the middle of nature”

This is an amazing hostel, especially if you’re a nature lover and don’t mind to stay a bit off the grit. It rained a lot when I was there, but still: wonderful views, kind staff (thanks for the good food and the skilled driving!) and a place that has been made with love. Imagine bit more sunshine and it’s the perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful stay here. One of our favourites in Sri Lanka. The staff were so friendly and helpful even let us help cook dinner to learn the recipes for free. The location is beautiful we woke up to mountains and a waterfall each morning. The owner Sham is a lovely and kind woman who is always on hand to help. The best part was the dogs, big shout out to Marley and Shinny very sweet souls

“Stunning location”

Beyond stunning location - the photos do not do it justice. Blown away with the view and the peacefulness of this place. Yes, it is a little far out of the centre - but if you want to be in Ella for the nature then this is the place to be. We did a gorgeous 1.5hr hike from Dreamville to a secluded waterfall (only a couple other people there) through tea plantations and quaint villages. As much as I loved the concept of the open dorms, I was worried about spiders/insects. But it was very clean and didn’t have any issue with that. Showers were good - one hot one in bathroom & one cold one with a window view of the mountains! Breakfast was good, we had waffles / French toast / coconut roti with mushrooms / toast / bananas / tea / coffee. There is no menu for dinner it’s either vege or meat but it was good. I wouldn’t say it’s a hugely social hostel, but all the other guests were friendly. Come here if you want some peace:) Would definitely recommend getting a Tuktuk organised by the hostel to bring you all the way there, as the roads were so bad getting there, the Tuktuk driver we had found stopped and asked us to walk the last 15mins.

A very unique spot for sure, and i loved waking up to the mountains just pulling away my curtains! Beautiful waterfalls around, some local restaurants not tooo far away, and beautiful staff that makes your stay worth it!

“Straight out of a Fairy Tale! Dream Ville Ella”

Everything about this property was out of a fairy tale. The trip into the mountains, away from the main town definitely made it worth the effort getting there. The dorm room offers an unobstructed view of the Ella valley, and the landscaping, architecture, and design of the place was amazing. The couple who own the property were friendly, accommodative, and helpful. Cannot suggest anywhere better for your private gatherings or to just escape into the magical, cool and misty hills.

Amazing location on the side of a mountain in between tea plantations, super nice view especially on clear days. Also the hostel in general looked very clean and good style. Food was also good. Breakfast comes included.
