The room was spotless, the view from the balcony amazing and the breakfast tasty. The hosts were very friendly and could help us with transport to our next stay.

“A perfect calming stay in Ella”

I loved staying at Dhanudi Homestay in Ella - it was private and comfortable and within a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. Easy access to cafes and restaurants! Also a 5 min walk to start hikes towards Nine Arches or to Little Adam’s peak - a perfect day hike I loved the breakfast and the beautiful owners who helped with every need :)

Excellent visit to this lovely home stay. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful for all of our trip. The location is amazing and a perfect place to explore ella from. Very short walk to the centre of the town and the hikes and famous bridge are easily accessible. We had a delicious dinner on arrival and the breakfast was perfect. If we are back in Ella again we will be back!

“Has been one of our favourite stays while in Sri Lanka”

Breakfast was exceptional. My wife and I felt very cared for. Credit must go to Chanaka and his family, the new accommodation that has been built is truly amazing. Conveniently located and quick shortcut on foot and you are amongst Ella’s many restaurants and attractions.

“Amazing homestay in Ella Center”

I like the room, the fact that the owner is trying to take a modern approach, it was a beautiful light and fresh and clean room, the breakfast was really amazing and they even helped me wash my travel pants. Oh, and the location was perfect, in a jungle feeling, but just a street down from the city center.

The place was amazing, super clean and in a perfect and convenient location. Above that the hospitality of the people made the difference. They were always willing to help and made our stay unforgettable! Highly recommended if you visit the area!

we spent 2 nights here and everything was perfect. Beds and pillows were super comfy!! The host was very friendly always making sure we were okay, the breakfast was very tasty and generous, we could as well rent a moto. They helped us with our transfer to the next city and with the safari booking in Yala. 10/10 would recommend

Staff very friendly and helpful. Balcony lovely to sit on in the morning, provided breakfast was wonderful. Great location with a short cut walk into town which only took 5-10 minutes and felt very safe walking back at night. Would return given the opportunity

We really loved our stay! We stayed in the new room which was just renovated 3 months ago, so everything was very comfortable and new. Breakfast is amazing and the hosts were so welcoming. We highly recommend eating dinner there too, you get delicious different curries! Also a very short walk into town, highly recommend staying here.

Nice quiet location walkable to the 9 arch bridge and other attractions, good breakfast. Helpful kind hosts. Balcony area lovely to sit and enjoy breakfast.

“Great location, great room, great breakfast”

We had an amazing stay here. We stayed for three days and enjoyed them immensely. First of all, the family is so kind and helpful and the room is so well equipped. There is more than enough space to put all your stuff away. The bathroom has recently been renewed and the shower is definitely the best we have had in Sri Lanka. Everything in the bathroom is super modern (you even get a hand dryer). The breakfast was great. We got a choice between two different kinds of breakfasts. You get more than enough and everything was delicious. The location is also very convenient. There is a shortcut to the town centre, so it takes you maybe 4 minutes to get there. If you want to walk to the nine bridges or little adam’s peak trailhead, it is maybe a 6 or 12 minute walk respectively. If you are looking for a place to stay in Ella that feels like home, stay here.

“A perfect stay”

We loved our stay at Dhanudi Homestay. The family are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very quiet. The shower was great with hot water. Our breakfast each day was delicious with an excellent selection of Sri Lankan food and fruit. The location is perfect, a quiet area but within easy walking distance of the town, 9 Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak.

“Best homestay in Ella”

Everything! You stay with the nicest family with all the services and amenities of a hotel, but with much more soul and warmth. Location is perfect, secluded and calm but still just a short walk to the bussy main road also near the trail to Nine Arch and little Adams Peak. Room is large and comfy. We had a Wonderful stay here!

“Fabulous homestay a short walk from the centre”

A fabulous homestay a few hundred meters out of the centre, which makes it very peaceful. The breakfasts are substantial and kept us going all day. Room was modern, comfortable with en suite and a/c. He pointed us in the right direction to walk to both 9 Arches Bridge and Little Adams Peak. His brother lives next door and provides TukTuk service locally as well as Island wide transport, which we used numerous times. Efficient and reasonably priced.

“A excellent couple of days”

A very clean, comfortable room. Good location, lovely hosts, who were always available. Our first time in a home stay, the high standard would encourage us to look for others on our travels.

The nicest place, staff, breakfast, view and location we’ve had in our entire Sri Lanka stay. A really kind family who make everything perfect for you. Also, I was unwell during the stay and they’d come up and drop off homemade remedies at the door. 100% recommend.

Chanaka and his family were super friendly and looked after me very well during my stay (including helping with hiring a tuk tuk for a day, pointing out the best tips/tricks to navigating the local attractions etc). The location is a little bit out of the way but it’s easy enough to navigate once you get your bearings. The Sri Lankan breakfasts included were a real highlight!
