“A view to die for”

The view from this homestay is truly spectacular and breathtaking. The homestay has everything you need and the breakfasts were excellent. The hosts were very hospitable and kind.

The view from the rooms, its so magical we didn't want to leave our rooms just wanted to stay there watching the hills and the waterfalls. Room was great for the price, very clean and neat.. breakfast is excellent with wide varieties, we especially loved the string hoppers with dhal and coconut sambhal. The staff were great they helped us in arranging tuktuks, cabs whenever needed and helped us with veggies while we were cooking food for our kid. Absolute value for money.

This place is a 10 out of 10! I highly recommend a stay. The family running it is incredibly friendly, the views are the best you will ever get for the price. The breakfast was amazing!! All in all it was our best stay in Sri Lanka.

“Amazing view of Ella and the jungle, perfect for those who want to get away from the busy streets of Ella”

The view is the most beautiful thing! You can watch the sunrise from the room! About 15 minutes walking to the city, so it’s very calm. The staff was amazing and welcomed us with juice and helpful about directions. The view is really so beautiful and the room is very nice.

Unbelievable views to wake up to, a helpful host, lovely room and nice breakfast.

I would 100% recommend this place for a stay in Ella! This was our best stay throughout our vacation in Sri Lanka. The location couldn‘t be better, it‘s quiet and only max 10min walk to the center. The view from our room was amazing just looking directly on the mountains! Breakfast was great and the owners were extremly nice!

The views are exceptional, the walk into town is beautiful, the hosts are wonderful and the breakfast is the perfect way to start the day!

We stayed at Chamodya’s 3 nights with our 12 years old son. We enjoyed being out of the noisy crowded main road at night. It is reachable by a 10 minutes walking to the very busy center of Ella or 3 minutes tuk tuk. Rooms are simply furnished but comfortable and clean for a reasonable price. The bonus is the amazing view from the room of the jungle and waterfall.

Amazing view, lovely rooms and fabulous breakfast. Friendly and helpful Staff mad our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Location is great - just a short walk along the tracks to town. Highly recommended.

“Beautiful quiet homestay in hills”

Lily and her family welcomed us with hot drinks as we arrived in the rain, then arranged curry at her brother's homestay. Tips on where to go, arranged tuc tuc to Temple up in the hills. Arranged laundry and clean towels when dampness wouldn't dry. After our transport refused to pick us up as not on main road arranged tuc tuc and paid for it to our vehicle. Went over and above, so kind.

The staff was lovely, helpfull and friendly. Exceptionally nice view from the balcony and room. Realy calm and nice area to stay. The room was also really really clean.

breakfast was so so good! location is great as well - close to the train tracks, <10min walk to the centre, and easy to walk along the tracks to other attractions. the view from the place and from the breakfast deck is unreal. hosts were very attentive too - e.g. when it rains there are bugs that appear (everywhere in ella), so the hosts very thoughtfully put towels under our doors to prevent them from coming in. they also helped us organise transport at good prices.
