We loved the place.. the view outside the room over a cup of tea/coffee is jus wonderful.. watching the waterfall and birds and squirrels.. I could go on.. this felt like home away from home thanks to Mr Gune and his wife.. and we would look to stay at the same place again when we visit Ella next :) Plz note..the picture taken by my phone doesn't truly show the waterfall properly.. it's bigger than it looks and the sound of the same is heard all across as well.

“Lovely mountain stay with fantastic hosts”

This is a beautiful property situated in the hills just outside Ella. The staff here are wonderful and provide a beautiful breakfast and are willing to help all the time. The host organised an amazing cooking class for us and dropped us in Ella with his tuk tuk whenever we needed. It was so thoughtful and helpful. Our room had beautiful views and great facilities - TV, comfy bed, kettle and shower. The tranquility and peacefulness of the stay was what we needed in Ella.

This is an amazing place to stay in Ella. It's a little out of the town, but the owner can take you into Ella by Tuk Tuk, or it's a 10-15 minute walk along the train tracks. The views from this accommodation are amazing and the owner is so friendly and helpful. I really recommend this place to make your stay in Ella even more special.

“Beautiful homestay run by a wonderful family”

Blooming Rose homestay is an absolute gem. There are currently 4 rooms which all have a breathtaking view. Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfortable and we had a fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a seating area both in the room and on the balcony. An excellent breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the mountains and arrives on the table at exactly the time you request the night before. The very best thing about this homestay however is the wonderful family that run it. They are so kind, nothing is too much trouble. On arrival the owner’s sons were waiting to carry our bags down the steps and made us a lovely pot of tea while we took in the view. The owner recommended a great restaurant slightly further up the hill, ran us up in his tuk tuk then came back to collect us after a couple of hours. The next morning he dropped us right to the door of our cooking class. We offered to pay for these rides but were politely refused. We had a bag of clothes laundered and returned within a day and were driven to and from our tea factory tour both for a very reasonable price. Don’t be put off by mentions of the building site- you do have to negotiate a lot of steps and walk through the extensions they are building but for us this did not detract at all from a wonderful stay. We wish the family all the best with their future plans for Blooming Rose, they have created a very special place and we would love to return one day.

Stunning views and good location if you want to be not in the thick of it, the walk into town is quick along the train tracks. Our hosts were kind and helped us arrange things as were needed

Very clean and friendly staff. Lovely, and early, breakfast, too. A bit uphill from city centre, but this means you get a beautiful view.

The views were fantastic, both from the balcony and during breakfast. The owners are incredibly friendly and interested in their guests. Breakfast was fresh and varied. The bed was comfy, bathroom clean and the AC worked. Oh, and a constant WiFi connection to boot!

Our host/owner/family was extremely friendly and had staff waiting for us at the top of the steps as you access it via steps down into it. Not the easiest to find! The room was lovely and a smaller hotel so feels very personable. He explained how to access the rail tracks down and then you walk along them to ella which took maybe 15mins. Feels mad to walk the tracks but its totally normal and when you hear a train and feel a vibration get off! The breakfast one of the best. We think cooked by his wife. Hoppers, egg, fruit with the best views of waterfalls and rolling hills. Could stare at it all day. We left our luggage there after checking out and our host couldn't have been more helpful. Its a good location if you dont mind walking up bit of a hill once youre off the tracks but its not long to get up to the hotel once you leave the tracks. The trade off if you stay slightly out of ella is the views but being further out. On reflection we should have stayed here the whole 3 nights instead of moving further up into the hills. There is construction work going on but it in no way affected our stay. Its from the damage from the awful flooding they had here so im glad they are rebuilding.

The bed and breakfast was exactly as described — actually, even better! We felt really comfortable from the moment we arrived, and everything worked out perfectly. It truly exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

The location is amazing. The mist comes in and out making the scene more beautiful. I felt the need to draw the scene it was so beautiful.
