“A relaxing retreat on the edge of Ella”

Such a lovely, peaceful spot just outside of Ella that we felt really relaxed in. The free, short tuk tuk ride is great for popping into town. Breakfast was amazing and both parents and kids loved the evening cooking class with the chef. All in all I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The fireflies in the tree canopies really add to the magic of the place.

We had a very peaceful stay at Arawe. Decided to stay four nights which was a great amount of time to explore Ella and surrounds, but also to enjoy time in the Arawe Retreat. It is a gorgeous, lush, tropical hideaway, the staff are very kind and helpful, it is walking distance to town (or free hotel tuk tuk) and great breakfast. The resident dogs and cats also make it feel homely.

We absolutely loved our stay at Arawe Resort and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more special. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options, and the team were very accommodating to our needs. Even the little details stood out e.g the toiletries smelled wonderful and added a lovely touch to the experience. A couple of things worth noting for future guests: from the hotel entrance to the rooms, there is a 2–3 minute walk involving several steps. However, this was not an issue for us as the staff immediately took care of all our luggage and helped us settle in effortlessly. It’s also worth knowing that most of the staff finish work around 9pm, so it’s a good idea to have a contact number available in case you need assistance later in the evening. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Arawe Resort. The exceptional hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and attention to detail made it a truly memorable experience

“Escape to the nature”

Everything! The place is located in a beautiful area, full of plants and rice fields, the greenery will take your breath away! Room was so stylish with beautiful private bathroom. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a cooking class and dinner with chef Harshan and yoga class early morning under the sky with teacher Namal - both activities are highly recommended! We really enjoyed our stay in Arawe. Additionally they have free tuk tuk service to the town which is super convenient. The place is nature oriented and will definitely help you escape from the daily rush and relax.

Wonderful hideaway outside of Ella. Staff go above and beyond. Breakfast cooked at the villa fresh every morning. Cooking class and chef were incredible. Included tuk tuks in and out of Ella town makes a huge difference to a comfortable stay. Magical

Beautiful locations with views of the rice fields. Breakfast was very good! Staff were friendly, helpful and responded quickly. A little out of town which was perfect for us, they will also take you in the tuk tuk

“Amazing tranquil stay”

Absolutely loved our stay here. The photos online honestly don’t do it justice, the most relaxing and gorgeous stay in amongst so much green and jungle, monkeys very often playing in the trees around room. So so so relaxing and felt like a tranquil oasis but also very close to Ella main town - hotel tuk tuk was amazing too. Breakfast was so delicious we loved it! Such an amazing stay, wish we could’ve stayed longer!

“Stunning retreat amongst paddy fields”

Arawe Retreat is a calm oasis in a busy town. The views within the property were stunning. We stayed in a villa and the cottage. Both properties were tastefully decorated and comfortable. The villa is the star tho - spacious with multiple places to sit and watch nature. Plenty of birds and monkeys. Only stayed a night so we didn’t have time to explore other offerings but wish we had stayed longer. The wellness centre looks amazing. Thanks to Suren for his help throughout. What a lovely kind man.

It's difficult to convey just how good our stay was here. The location is absolutely perfect, far enough away from the chaos of Ella town but still within walking distance. Arawe is a little oasis nestled amongst tea plantations and we were delighted to return to it after our hikes. The rooms themselves are exceptional and really high spec, we had an entire block to ourselves, which would be great for families. The staff are all absolutely charming and we felt very welcome and were exceptionally looked after. As an icing on the cake, they have beautiful dogs and cats which add a lovely family feel to the location. Breakfast was great and we watched monkeys playing in the trees as we ate fresh fruit and smoothie bowls.

“Beautiful peaceful getaway.”

What a beautiful spot to spend a few days in Ella! I loved everything about staying here from the peaceful views over the fields, watching the iconic blue train go past from our bed to the delicious breakfasts (best breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka for sure). It was a short walk out of the main part of town which made it easy to get there when we wanted and yet so peaceful and quiet. The best part was the pets, though. In particular my little kitten friend who I still think about all the time and wish I could have brought her home with me!

The grounds are stunning and the wellness centre is the best Ive ever seen. Our bathroom was stunning. Highly recommend staying here. Free tuk tuk into town whenever we needed it. Staff were amazing.

The property is well designed, the cottages /villas surrounded by rice fields. The cottage accommodation is large and beautiful, very comfortable. The breakfast is exceptional, the staff cook it while you are seated.

This place is so beautiful, calm, and peaceful. We are in the middle of nature (we saw squirrels, birds, and even monkeys). Ella center is just 5min in TukTuk. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. We really enjoyed the time we spent with Suren, and once again, we thank him for his kindness and for all the wonderful memories we shared with him. Definitely recommend this place!
