“Best views in Ella. Great value”

Absolutely incredible views - possibly the best in Ella! The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. It’s a short walk out of the main town but worth it for the view! The facilities themselves are more traditional home stay than modern hotel, but have lots of charm and it’s great value for money. We’d stay here again

“Best view in Ella”

It's got the best view in the entirety of Ella, hands down. The sense of comfort and belonging you get here is unmatched. The food is incredible too, one of the best in Sri Lanka!. Staff was so helpful and warm, made our experience better.

“A wonderful hotel in an incredibly beautiful location”

A wonderful hotel in an incredibly beautiful location. It was so beautiful that we even decided not to climb to the top of Little Adam's Peak, because we knew we wouldn't have seen anything more beautiful. We just wanted to sit on the terrace and take in the amazing views. The hotel is a bit far from Ella, but you can get to the town—which is also very lively and beautiful—very quickly and cheaply by tuk-tuk. In our group’s opinion, this hotel was the most beautiful one during our entire trip to Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was wonderfully helpful.

View is spectacular to watch the sunrise also. Adjoining balconies. Very friendly staff Gardens and vegetable patch were lovely and colourful showing great love and care Sri Lankan breakfast was good. Quiet.

“Stunning View”

This is a lovely place to stay with a beautiful view. You can get tuktuk easily to get to the town area, walking can be exhausting since the roads are steep.and windy. The staffs are exceptionally attentive and accommodating.

“Fantastic stay with a perfect view”

Having been to a few places with a view, this was the absolute best of the Little Adams’s peak , the valley and the Ella’s rock. Very nice and quiet - we had a bike so was easy to ride down to town for dinner/drinks. Staff was lovely and very helpful and even prepared breakfast to special dietry requirements. Rice and curry dinner was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend if you are staying in Ella for a few nights.

“Iconic views and and gardens in Ella”

A beautiful older hotel overlooking one of the best views in Ella. An escape from the touristy town with wonderful gardens for breakfasts. Hosts were fab and even provided us with a 5am picnic to take up for our Ella rock hike.

10 million dollar view, nice rooms with balcony, extremely kind and helpful staff. Only small distance way from city crowds. Could not ask for more.

“The View is Priceless”

The view from the room really is unsurpassable, and the same for the sound of nature. The staff is very welcoming with a cup of tea upon arrival. They prepared a delicious breakfast each morning and even an ad hoc omelet after arriving unexpectedly late. The room was decent, a bit dated here and there, and the walls are thin, but more than acceptable for the price, especially taking into account the views and the overal natural beauty of the accomodation. It’s an easy tuktuk ride to Ella town (500 LKR was the cheapest I got). A special note: check at the train station for departures as Google Maps isn’t fully up-to-date.

“Peaceful stay set to a stunning backdrop”

Located in a serene, dreamy setting overlooking Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak this is the perfect spot for accessing the multitude of sights and amazing landscapes close to Ella, whilst having the calm, peace and solitude available to relax. The outdoor areas such as the gardens are beautifully maintained and offer a great place to set and watch the world and wildlife. Rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable with good storage and facilities for a few night’s stay. Shower and air con also pretty decent. All the staff including the general manager and owner were very helpful and friendly throughout the stay, offering great advice and being on-hand with any requests.

Amazing place to stay. View is incredible–equally as good as the view from the local hikes. Extremely friendly staff. Shout out to Shanaka.

This is a beautiful guest house nestled in the hills of Ella. The view from our room was like a postcard, and watching the sunrise over the hills from bed was a highlight. It’s a short, 10 minute walk down to Ella town with great restaurants and shops. We were also able to walk to all main attractions close to town such as Ella Rock, Little Adam’s Peak and the 9 Arches Bridge. Our host, Shanaka, was incredibly helpful and provided us with recommendations and advice on activities. Breakfast was wonderful too! We would definitely stay again when visiting Ella.

The property is an older charming property set in the hills with the most amazing views. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The view is absolutely beautiful and makes the place feel extra special. The location is quiet and peaceful and it’s still just a short distance to town (there are also some stairs nearby that work as shortcuts, making it very easy and quick to walk) The hotel staff were very kind and helpful...which made the experience even better. I truly felt welcomed and well taken care of. Overall, a great combination of calm surroundings, easy access to everything you need and excellent service. Highly recommended!

Our stay at ambiente was lovely. It is high up above Ella town but you walk down or Tuk Tuk is only 500SLR(£1.25) The views were stunning definitely nicer than staying in the town The breakfast was really good and the manager Chanika was so helpful and friendly he really made our stay. The room was nice, bathroom bit basic.

Our comfortable room and shared balcony had a magnificent view across the valley to Ella Rock. The hotel is set in a pretty garden with local wildlife. Staff friendly and helpful.
