The host and owner is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The garden is lively green and dense that is very refreshing in the Albanian summer.

When I checked out from Elbasan Backpacker Hostel, I got a big hug from the lady who runs it — that alone says everything about this place. It’s genuine, and Albanian hospitality at its best. The free breakfast was the cherry on top, and I managed to see everything I wanted because of the free luggage storage. Next time I’ll definitely go and try the mud bath — it sounded amazing, but I didn’t have time this time around. I can recommend this place so much. Thank you for your hospitality and welcoming environment.

The accommodation was great and still incredibly affordable, even though the prices shown in the app were unfortunately not correct. During our stay, we even had the place to ourselves, which made it especially peaceful and relaxing. There was a language barrier with the host, but she was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we were still able to communicate without any real problems. The breakfast was also really good. One small thing to keep in mind: as of May 2026, there are roosters right next to the property that start crowing very early at dawn, so light sleepers might want to bring earplugs. Overall, we had a really lovely experience and would absolutely stay here again!

“Feel at home/ A home away from home”

This place made me feel very comfortable. I stayed here for more than 20 days, and I’m really grateful to the host for all the help they gave me. I also met many interesting people here — we went out together, cooked together, and had a great time. Before coming, I read a lot of reviews, and I saw that some people didn’t like it. I’m not sure how to judge those comments, but I think everyone’s experience is different. The host’s son is an amazing person and helped me a lot. The breakfast is very delicious, and the host provides it every day. As for the negative reviews, it’s not that they don’t exist — I think this is something everyone should understand. After all, we are just renting a bed, so naturally there are both pros and cons. Some people stay here to save money, while others enjoy the lively atmosphere. You can meet many interesting people here. The location is actually not very far — for someone who doesn’t mind walking, it’s totally fine. Yes, the rooster crowing is real, but if you choose to stay in this kind of environment, you should be ready to accept it. Also, I recommend asking the host’s son to take you out for a trip (you can pay for the transportation). We went to a very beautiful place and had a wonderful time.

We used the chance, to come in touch with your guests from Australia, India, Netherland, Russia, China and other places of this wonderful world. You was always busy on the side of your guests and you helped and cured everybody. The Hostel was allways clean, bath and shower in very good condition and clean. 15 Minutes walk to town of Elbasan was easy, and the breakfast always good and rich We will come again ...........

The owner was lovely. She was so hospitable; it was as though we had been invited off the streets as guests and just looked after. It didn’t feel as though we were paying customers. The surroundings of the property were also beautiful with lots of fruit producing trees. Breakfast was amazing with fresh eggs produced by her chickens that morning. So many nice things to say about this place.

The lady is incredibly nice and helpful. I felt being in good hands. It is a safe place and like it should be in a hostel, I met nice people from all over the world. I am very grateful that I got breakfast, because this is really seldom in Albania. Thanks a lot for the nice time I spent there.

Fatima is very welcoming. We stayed in a chalet which was really comfortable with a sofa and table outside to enjoy the garden. Very peaceful place adjacent to vibrant town of Elbasan. Clean facilities and delicious breakfast. Good value.

It was such a wonderful time here, we could just sit forever in this beautiful garden, watching the chickens, cats etc. It was so peaceful. And the breakfast was unbelievably good. And then our host was so nice, she even brought us the bus station and waited with us for the bus. We really want to come back some day!

“Lovely garden and host - disappointing premises”

The garden was spacious and beautiful and the host so kind and friendly. I booked a private room and it was stifling with no fan or aircon. Very dark even with the lights on. Not so appealing.

“Lovely local experience in nature”

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for local experience. We loved the place, garden with fruits and vegetables, chickens, goat, cats. The room was nice and clean, bathroom as well. There is common external kitchen, with small portable stoves, pots are available. The owner, lady, was very nice and welcoming, "mum like" ;) The breakfast was delicious, egg,fig jam, goat cheese, bread, all of it homemade! We had a parking spot inside in the garden. There is not much around, but you get to the city by walking in 30mins and the closest good restaurant (Antika) is 15mins walking. We had a really nice experience staying at this place. Thank you!
