“Kochilas Rooms & Taverna – Warm, local charm with stunning views”

We really enjoyed our stay at Kochilas Rooms & Taverna! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking the Chrysoskalitissa Monastery and the endless blue of the Mediterranean Sea – the sunsets from here are truly breathtaking. Downstairs, the taverna serves excellent fresh seafood – definitely worth trying after a day out. It was also very kind to be able to use the washing machine during our stay. The location is great: close to the famous Pink Beach, and even better, just a short drive from Kedradasos Beach, which we’d recommend for its natural shade, calmer vibe, and fantastic swimming and snorkelling. There are also two mini-markets nearby for daily essentials. What really makes Kochilas special, though, is the warm, familylike atmosphere. Everyone goes out of their way to help and make you feel at home. All in all, a lovely and authentic place to stay on Crete’s southwest coast!

Owned by a truly lovely and welcoming family. They shared great tips with us, and we enjoyed chatting with them in the evenings. I highly recommend this place not only because of the wonderful family but also for its beautiful location. It’s close to the monastery and to a small bay called Voulolimni, and another hidden gem the natural pool, which is still untouched by tourists – it’s incredibly beautiful, especially at sunset, and just a short walk away. It’s also very close to Elafonisi; I recommend going there early in the morning around 6 or 7 am to really enjoy the beach before it gets crowded and burning hot.

The owner was very nice and kind. Also I liked the view from my roo. and it is a very peaceful location. It is 6 min drive from Elafonisi beach but there is a lake walking distance far. My room was clean and comfortable with wardrobe.

“Good one night choice”

The room itself is new and recently renovated. Bathroom and room have everything you need. Good room for a one-night stay. There is a monastery in walking distance and is close to Elafonissi beach by car.

“Overall was a good stay.”

Location is great to visit Elafonisi and Kedrodasos beaches, just a few minutes drive to get to them. Restaurant is great, with an amazing fish soup and friendly staff. Also, one can see a great sunset everyday, from the restaurant floor. Very clean rooms and spacious free parking.

The room has an air conditioning and it was clean and comfortable. The wifi works well.

Great location and great tavern which provides excellent food (specifically, fish catch of the day). We had a great time, I recommend.

It appeared to be recently renovated. The staff were helpful and even carried my bag up the stairs! Staying here was part of a week’s tour around Crete and it was a nice change to stay somewhere quite authentic with a nice Mountain View.

Good location, clean rooms, nice bathroom. The taverna we tried opposite- Kosmos was very nice with excellent food. Close to Elafonissi beach. Host are nice, easy check in. If you are an early bird- recommendation for breakfast is Glykeria restaurant.

Location, friendliness, balcony and size of room were all fab. The food in the taverna was also tasty! Good fridge, comfy beds.

“Inexistent customer service”

Called the hotel 3 times on the day of the reservation and no answer. Also contacted them through booking and never got a reply. Really bad customer service. Cannot recommend.
