A unique format of the "reception" and taverna restaurant with panorama view being across the road from the rooms/pool where owner couple Nicos and Mary overlay a brilliant personal engagement in the tradition of providing generous hospitality to vistors. The taverna was excellent quality where Nicos's brother produced plates a level above a lot of taverna food. No tv in the room as grandmother encouraged it should be a social experience -and it is in spades. If you are going to Elafonisi, do stay - its just a delight of a hotel experience.

location suited us being only a few kilometers from Elafonisi and other beaches. Having a pool and restaurant/cafe on site also suited us and the view at sunset overlooking the bay was stunning. Minimart and other dining options were easy walking distance away.

As we arrived after a 2hr drive received a complentry drink which was well and truely required. The local draft beer was very nice, and furthermore the restaurant was cheap and plentiful. First time visiting and would use again without a doubt.

Sea view studio with possibility to access to interesting sites on foot. The near by natural poor was fantastic. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Free sun umbrella and towels on demande. Strongly recommend.

Everything was fantastic! We will for sure return! Maria and her colleagues were lovely and extremely accommodating, rooms are great, wonderful view, super clean, great beds, fantastic breakfast! Would definitely recommend Glykeria over and over again!!!!! The hotel itself is neat, clean, and has a superb location! As opposed to other hotels in this area, Glykeria comes with a restaurant across the road that serves delicious breakfast, incl drinks, for a fixed price (€9pp). The views are also amazing. Our room had sea view from the balcony and mountain views from the door. From the pool or the restaurant you have both! The swimmingpool area is nice for swimming or just reading a book/playing some games. Water is clean and crisp. In general I would say that you need a rental car when travelling to Crete. With the car you are at Elafonisi beach in 5-10min (with special parking rate with the code word that the hostess will give you upon arrival). Also a 2min drive to a mini market for anything you'd want for the room of the beach. Although the hostess Maria is more than willing to provide and has done so on many an occasion for us. She is the most bubbly and kindhearted person and is literally full with tips about other worthy beaches or roadtrips when the weather is too cloudy for swimming. Trust Maria when she recommends a restaurant or view, you will not be disappointed. She and the rest of the crew at Glykeria really made the second part of our honeymoon feel like a gift. All of them are friendly and they create a really relaxed vibe. We had a wonderful time.

Everything! Without a doubt the most wonderful welcoming hotel we stayed in during our trip around Crete. We left feeling we had made good friends with the owners - what great history and family! This is a must-stay hotel for Crete - Maria is exceptional at her Front-of-House role!

The location overlooking the ocean with the restaurant across the street with a sunset view, makes Glykeria a lovely location. Maria & the others are so friendly & welcoming, their hospitality is exceptional. The room was spacious, modern, clean & comfortable with very nice pool facilities & easy parking. We had dinner & breakfast at their restaurant. The food was delicious & they do a very good deal for guests for breakfast. As Elafonisi Beach was impacted by gale force winds, Maria & Nickos offered alternative suggestions. We will be recommending Glykeria to our friends visiting Crete.

“Lovely Glykeria”

Perfect location, quiet and lovely, from which beautiful beaches can be easily reached. Maria and Nikos are wonderful hosts, the hotel very nice and very comfortable, facing amazing sunsets. A good restaurant is always available for breakfast/lunch/dinner. The whole staff has been welcoming and kind.

Excellent family hotel in a stunning location. Maria and Nikos are the perfect hosts, exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and they gave us some excellent tips about the surrounding area. This is a great place to stay!

“Would highly recommend for a relaxing stay in the Elafonnisi area”

Maria was so welcoming and it was so nice for her to spend time sharing local knowledge - she provided some great tips for the local beaches, as well as towels and umbrellas, and tips for our return journey to the airport (which was spot on and so helpful!) It was great to be able to use Whatsapp for anything needed (her and Nikos were always on hand and quick to reply/help). Bed was comfy, room was clean with fridge, kettle and coffee pod machine. The restaurant and food was lovely, pool was great, views of the sea were lovely. We really loved our stay and would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in a quiet, relaxed area that is close to some great beaches. Very much a family-ran/feel hotel, we were made to feel very welcome and were very well looked after!
