Room was small but very comfortable and the AC was excellent, a real lifesaver with the heat and humidity. Shared bathroom was always really clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful enough and the location was great, close to the main beach and lots of shops/restaurants/ATM.

“Incredibly friendly and helpful staff”

The bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the room was very clean, the kitchen is well equipped, cute garden and some tables to eat outside and enjoy the weather, everything is very nice. Short walk to the beautiful beach of El Zonte and surrounded by restaurants and tiendas. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and I would like to thank in particular Samuel, who helped me in a very stressful situation with a shuttle bus. You will be well taken care off at La Canasta

The location was perfect! And the food at the restaurant was very tasty, although a bit pricey. We loved the inside yard and the hammocks, it was the perfect setting to wind down.

So friendly and cozy. Nothing fancy but really nice and super friendly. The garden, outdoor shower, hammocks and good kitchen facilitiies and close to the sea and nice restaurants and cafees.

Spotlessly clean, with a beautifully kept garden. I loved the small private outdoor space, the outdoor shower, and all the thoughtful details. The air conditioning worked perfectly too.

Really great place!! It was a little more than I wanted to spend but happy I did because they take such care in there rooms/ the whole place. Super clean and quiet. Only issue really is they have drinking water available but it’s pretty much always empty. I just bought water at the store.

Great location and lovely room. The shared kitchen area is really nice and very well equipped. The gardens and setting are beautiful. . The staff were all lovely, especially the housekeeping ladies. I unfortunately broke my phone whilst I was staying there and one of the guys that works there found an unlocked phone for me to borrow which was a life saver!

Location is perfect right in the centre of El Zonte - which means just a little walk to restaurants and also to the beautiful beach.

We enjoyed our stay here! The location is fantastic, just a 1-2 minute walk to the beach, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The room was great, with well-functioning air conditioning, and the shared bathroom worked perfectly. Having two restaurants on-site was also a nice bonus. Overall, it was a good experience, and we’d recommend it for the location and comfort.

“Good place for single traveler”

Good place for short and longer stay. The garden is beautiful, kitchen well equiped. All you need is 3 minutes walk. But as you mainly stay here for surfing I would instal either a keyless (code) entrance or a safety box in a room.

Loved this hostel. Great AC, nice rooms, cleaned daily, really good kitchen to cook in and 2min walk from the beach!

We stayed for one week in La Canasta, and everything went smoothly. The personnel are super nice, and the accommodation is nice but still quite basic regarding the price.
