Everything was perfect.

Big, comfortable, clean room, right in the middle of town, next door to where shuttles depart. Time again, would have stayed here instead of Tikal.

Rooms away from the road with a beautiful sea view. Very helpful owner with good English skills. Loved our stay!

In great location Can walk in ten minutes to lovely lake What really makes it special is mine host Senor Umberto Castro Speaking fluent Spanglish which is great for non Spanish speakers. Umberto can arrange all local trips eg Tikal, taxis etc in a laid back and efficient manor.. Also there is a communal kitchen area with a coffee machine, which is great, especially if you arrive with coffee, as we did

“Convenient departure point for Tikal and Yaxha”

Good base for exploration around Peten Itza lake, better departure point for trips to Tikal and Yaxha. The room was recently built, clean and welcoming. Comfortable beds. Communal kitchen, free filtered water, good coffee offered. Friendly owner gave us useful travel suggestions.

For Tikal and Yaxha is better to stay here than in Flores. Great value for money. It is simple and bit worn out but for the price is great. Very quiet. Water just warm, not hot, but ok. Umberto booked for us transfer to Uaxactun, Tikal and Yaxha. Common kitchen you can use is a good advantage. Village of El Remate feels more autenthic than Flores. Regular collectivos to Tikal and Flores, just asked in the hotel.

The owner is super friendly, the same as his employees. We had a fantastic clean room with a sea view and a super comfy bed. I really enjoyed the hammock on the balcony. 5 minutes distance to the sea, where we had a swim every day. The accommodation offers a big kitchen (bigger than on the pictures). There is a good supermarket at the beginning of the main street, so you will get everything essentially. There is also a little shop for fruits and vegetables and a bakery. WiFi was very good as well. We stayed 5 nights there without any regrets (:

We had a wonderful stay at Sun Breeze, with our 3 young children. Umberto & his wife are really friendly , welcoming & helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable & comfortable. The beds are great & the outdoor shared kitchen & dining area are good for preparing meals. I would recommend staying here.

Loved our stay here! When no we arrived we booked for 1 night and the lovely, charming owner said “most people stay 2-3… we stayed for three. The bed is so comfy and our room had a great view of the lake. The lake is great for a dip after a hot day exploring.

Sun Breeze has a great location, facilities and very friendly owners. Located in between Flores and Yaxha ruins.

“A wonderful stay with amazing sunset views”

I loved everything about this place and wished I would have stayed for weeks! The room was big, clean, comfortable with an amazing view on the lake, especially at sunset and sunrise, when you can see a lot of birds (among which green parakeets, red-lored parrots, etc.). There were mosquito nets, but I didn’t see a single mosquito throughout my 3-night stay. The AC was quiet and worked perfectly, and the room had great Wi-Fi I used for a work video call. The room comes with a balcony, where you can find a table, chairs and hammock. There is also a kitchen you can use in common spaces. Umberto is an amazing host! He is very kind and helped me throughout my stay, even offering to lend me money when I had trouble withdrawing from the ATM, which I really appreciated in this stressful situation. He arranged my tours to Yaxha and Tikal, and the hotel’s location is very convenient, right where shuttle and colectivos stop and just in front of El Remate’s only ATM. It is a 5 min walk from the laundry shop, and within a 5 min walk from many great cafes and restaurants (Cahui, La Puerto, Casa de Don David, Doña Mari, etc.). I hesitated between staying in El Remate or Flores, but now that I have been to both, I am happy that I got to experience a quieter side of Lake Petén, with better sunset views and amazing restaurants, closer to Tikal and Yaxha archaeological sites. Highly recommended!

Location is nice. Room is big. Cool staff. Hot shower. You can dry your clothes outside and each room has its own table/chair and hammock. Cleaning is done everyday. We could check-in earlier (the room was ready)

We really enjoyed it here, the village is so nice and probably the best and quietest we've seen in guatemala. The host was friendly and we booked a tikal tour and then onward shuttle through him both of which were really good. The room was good, hot water and thick walls so we slept well!
