The Host is very friendly and speaks English very well. It's a cozy location at the lake. Plus you have a well equipped kitchen.

Great spot, very chill vibes and super helpful information for continuing our travels. Also amazing drinks at the bar! Would love to come back again when the lake is less full and the beach is more accessible. El Remate is a gem and so nice to stay here rather than transiting back to flores after visiting tikal and before moving eastward to Belize.

“Not worth it”
If you like lake swimming, it is a good location as it is right on the shore line. Fine for 1 night if you are visiting Tikal and want to be a bit closer

The hostel is a little oasis on the lake and I just fell in love with the location and what they made out of it. The hostel itself is so cute and pittoresque. The staff is very friendly and chill. Riccardo was so nice as to find me a last minute solution for my accommodation there in the Semana Santa (everything was completely full!). Plus, they have very comfy beds and atmosphere. Very recommended

Shared bathroom, very neglected. No hanger to hang a towel. The water in the shower is standing, so you are standing in the water that someone else was washing in before you.

Great stay on the lake and perfect for getting to Tikal in the early morning. Not far walk from the centre and kitchen facilities were great. Would stay again
