Very relaxing place

04-06.05.2026 I got this place recommended by a fellow traveler, and I absolutely loved it! The location is incredibly relaxing and authentic, offering a truly special experience. The huts are simple, but the beds are very comfortable. Both breakfasts and dinners were excellent. The crew was fantastic—special thanks to Wil, Marcel, and Judy for taking care of me like I was part of their family. I also want to give a big shoutout to the boat crew: Norman, Dodoy, and Arah. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine and memorable getaway!

The accommodation is on the beach, the beach is pretty nice and it is possible to snorkel at a ship wreck with a lot a different fish from the beach.

Rustic,no-grills hotel on a beautiful tropical island.

The hotel is very rustic and basic, but you are not visiting this place for the hotel. It’s the dreamy beach that it rests against that’s the star attraction. The hotel food is fresh and exceptionally tasty.

Beautiful island, but improvements need to be made

- Beautiful surroundings and relatively quiet. - Clear blue water on a very beautiful island. - An interesting shipwreck available for diving, located 10 minutes away. - A nice lady as the manager. - The food we order there was tasty.

Everything here is amazing! I stayed in the more quiet camp in what can only be described as a treehouse with an amazing view over the beach with clean bathroom and excellent shower pressure. Everything was perfect! The staff went above and beyond - a special shout out to  Marcy and Jerry, thank you for making my stay so comfortable and the food so tasty. The island itself has its own vibe which is contagious. Darocotan and it's people will stay in my heart forever!  - Julia you are a diamond in the rough, keep doing what you are doing x

Lovely huts in idyllic beach setting

Beautiful location, comfortable hut with double bed, mosquito net, power, shower and toilet, close to the beach (which was idyllic). Nice restaurant and tables on the beach for overlooking the water and sunsets.

A home away from home — an absolute paradise to recharge and fall in love with island life.

Spending four nights at BICE Camp was the highlight of my trip to the Philippines. This time I stayed in one of the larger bungalows at the quieter camp, and it gave me exactly what I needed — total relaxation and a chance to recharge before heading back into winter at home. The camp has everything you need while still feeling local and authentic, without the crowds or a commercial vibe. I had visited the island twice in the past two years and worried the magic might not be the same, but this stay at the other BICE camp was even better. The location is stunning — a beautiful beach away from tourist hotspots, yet comfortable and well-equipped. The half-open bungalows face the sea, and you can swim to two different coral gardens within minutes. It’s paradise if you love the ocean. The bungalows are cozy but spacious enough to work from your laptop — and with that view, it hardly feels like work 🙂 The staff are incredibly warm and helpful. When I caught a local flu, they surprised me with ginger tea delivered to my bungalow — such a thoughtful touch that made me feel truly cared for. I usually feel awkward accepting help, but their kindness felt genuine and made all the difference. The kitchen and bar are fully stocked, so you can happily stay put all day if you just want to relax and unwind. There are also smaller bungalows closer to the livelier area if you prefer more activity, but the quiet camp was perfect for the peaceful final phase of my holiday. For me, this was the ideal place to slow down, recharge, and simply enjoy island life. I left feeling refreshed and full of energy.

Relaxing stay in Bice camp but ecological concerns

PROS: Its my second time in Bice Camp in Darracotan island and I enjoyed my stay and could relax. The staff is very kind and welcoming there and the food is delicious. The island and the underwater life in those parts of the which are still intact are beautiful even though there is not so much fish left, probably because of overfishing as a result of tourism. CONS: - good advice to tourists: bring your own 8 Liter gallon DRINKING WATER to the island- you can buy it in any supermarket in El nido or bring water from the refilling station in Teneguiban town. There is no free drinking water provided any more and the toursists need to buy every liter of water in plastic bottles for 100php (1,9€) in Bice camp or for 50 php in the village nearby. This is insane considering the environmental impact and the fact that recycling still does not happen reliably and the over-useage of ressources drains our planet. All the other resorts on the island provid free drinking water from the local refilling station in Teneguiban with filtered mineral drinking water. I think the selling of water is a very lucrative extra income that the management of Bice Camp wants to get access to. I suggest raising the price of the accomodation for 100 php per night rather offer free water again (not in plastic bottles)- like it was the case in Bice Camp, 2 years ago.

I miss it already

It's a nice place with lovely people hosting the place. The whole Island was still a bit messy because of the recent typhoons, but everything was worked on when we were there

A little corner of paradise

I had a wonderful time at Bice Camp. It has the best beach on the island, with white sand and crystal clear water. The food is tasty, the huts are very sweet, right on the beach, and the team of people there are so warm and welcoming. Thanks to Salio, Analy, Pong, Andy, and the rest of the team for making my stay unforgettable!

AMAZING location and super friendly accommodating staff! The chef was also wonderful and able to cater to my vegetarian diet and do special requests! Equipment was available to snorkel the wreck right in front of the beach huts, and it was very comfortable! Even in rainstorms and wind it was comfortable and not damp inside and the staff do absolutely everything to make sure it is the best experience!

Beautiful island escape with a real Filipino feeling.

I loved the simple and authentic nature of the accommodation and facilities. Might not be for everyone, but for us it was a great escape to just focus on the peace and beauty of the island. The beach is stunning and one of the best beaches we found in the Philippines. Great food available at the restaurant too. Best fish I’ve had in a long time! The staff were also incredible people and some of the nicest people we’ve met on our travels.
