We arrived in El Fuerte by train from Creel and took a colectivo from the station (60 pesos per person). The hotel itself is quite old but has character. Our room was very spacious with high ceilings, a comfortable bed, and traditional wooden shutters instead of glass windows. Be aware that this means outside noise can easily be heard. The air conditioning worked well, and there was also a ceiling fan. The shower only had cold water, but given how hot El Fuerte is, this wasn’t really an issue. The hotel is perfectly located right on the main square, which is very clean and pleasant, with a mix of restaurants, small shops, and street food vendors nearby. I’d also recommend seeing the local Zorro show and taking a short walk to the malecón by the river. Overall, I would consider staying here again if they improve the standard of cleaning.

“Beautiful place, if booking make sure your room is away from the main road with good wifi connection”
This place is really beautiful, close to everything in town, which is a quaint town with a rich history. The room was extremely clean with a ceiling fan and air conditioner.

“A good place to stay in an enjoyable town”
Breakfast was not available on the day I hoped to get it. Maybe I was late after my morning boat trip on the river. The location is central and perfect. I liked that it felt like part of the historic city
