Do not come here if you’re looking for luxury or fancy places. Everything here is simple and real. Everything is alive and breathing. This place — El Cuyo — is still untouched, not yet broken by harsh civilization. The hotel is remarkable. The owner is truly present, alive, and deeply empathetic.❤️❤️❤️ Everything you need is here: comfortable beds, beautiful natural linens, everything works, a stunning common area with hammocks and sofas, and a rooftop filled with the magic of the winds… A truly unforgettable experience. We are deeply grateful for the magic of this time and this place.

“Authentic”

We arrived early (around 11:30 a.m.), and the host kindly allowed us to check in. He shared helpful information about the area and his own local experience, which we really appreciated. The hotel is ideally located, just steps from the beach and the city center. The rooms are authentic and full of character, and we were pleased to have a kettle in the room. Our kids absolutely fell in love with the host’s dog!

Casa Gajah is a beautiful older building beside the beach, and it's a short walk to town centre. There is a lovely upstairs terrace and a place to relax on the roof. The hotel is kept very clean and Federico is a friendly, helpful host. I would love to come back here again!

An amazing location, just steps from the beach and incredible value for money! Pet-friendly, cotton sheets on comfy beds and soft pillows 🛌 A HUGE, friendly German Shepherd lives there 🐕 We will definitely be back!

The things that are most easily highlighted are number 1, its owner Federico, a super funny and friendly person who clearly loves his place, and his life in this little corner of heaven. He is amazing, always there and available, he treats you in this hotel as if you were a guest coming to his house, and he wants you to feel welcome, supported, and free. The second thing is the location, just can't get better than this, a few steps away from the amazing beach, all clear land, lots of space where to sit and enjoy, right in the middle of where the best sunsets and sunrises happen every single day. Everything is within walking distance.

The hotel was just perfect. Small and cozy with a roof top with ocean view and a good place to watch sunset and do yoga. Hammocks and nice places to sit everywhere. The hotel is situated very close to good restaurants and at the mire quite area of the beach. And of course Federico was a fantastic host!

“Great stay”

Lovely property 100 m from the beach and 5 mins walk from the main square. I had a downstairs room which had 2 double beds, fridge, a/c, and fan - very comfortable. There was even hot water in the shower which you don't need. I extended my stay and would have extended again, but they were full. Loved Ed Cuyo.

Friendly and helpful staff. Small and quiet room with ac, fan and small fridge. Several spots around the place to relax including rooftop terrace. Great tips from the host to help you get around. The beach is very close by, less than 100 metres walk.

Casa Gajah is very well located, just a stone's throw from the center and the beach. The house has an incredible roof-top where we loved spending time. We also met the owner, who is a very friendly person. We'd like to thank him for his warm welcome.

Federico was a super good host, we were supposed to stay one night but we decided to add one night just because it was a pretty chill vibe. Elkin from the staff was really good and welcoming, we would have stayed more if we had more time. I recommend it!

“Amazing place with super friendly host”

It’s a very rare case, but I’m amazed with my stay in Casa Gajah. We planned to stay for 1-2 days, but spent here almost a week. The host, Frederick, was super friendly, El Cuyo is a nice expats village with a lot of nice restaurants, long free beach with almost no people. The property has amazing terrace with fantastic sea view and hammocks. Very nice!
