“Wonderful staff, would stay here again”
I stayed for 6 nights (travelling in low season is great - you are so much more flexible to extend a stay last minute). Comfortable beds. I asked for a lower bed as I am always scared of falling out of the upper bunk bed. Alan made it possible for me. Thank you so much! The rooms have lockers and get cleaned daily. Tha bathrooms get cleaned ALL the time (felt like every 15 minutes). The common area is big. Enough space to eat upstairs and some sofas in an open extra room and warm. Close to some of the hiking trails, possible to book shuttles through the hostel, possibility to eat in the restaurant 24 hours if you are too tired to cook. The best were the people staying there (you always find someone to talk to or do something with if you want to) and the people working there (Alan never got tired to give recommendations about the trails and to look up the weather report again and again, a girl working in reception with long hair who’s name I don’t know, was amazing when I told her about a man I met on the hike that was looking for his wife that had went missing and immediately contacted the Emergencias guardaparques even though the people were not staying in this hostel). Thank you so much! You made the difference! :) If I ever came back to El Chalten, I would stay here again.

I was honestly very disappointed with this hostel. The first thing you see upon arrival is the restaurant, which takes up most of the space, leaving very few areas to relax or socialize after a long hike. The restaurant staff were not very attentive or friendly, I often had to wait for quite a while and even raise my hand just to get noticed. The prices are quite high considering the food quality is average at best. On my first day, I was even charged €2.5 for a cup of hot water, which felt unreasonable. On my last day, I couldn’t get an Uber, so I asked the reception to arrange a ride. The driver charged €6 for a 4-minute trip (it showed 1.28 euro on Uber), which is overpriced, even in Buenos Aires, that amount could get you much farther. The dorm rooms lack basic privacy features like curtains on the beds. Overall, I’m very disappointed with my experience here and expected much better.

“Cosy and clean”
Really comfortable beds and the bathrooms were super clean. Cleaners were constantly cleaning the hallways, common areas, kitchens and bathrooms throughout the day and it was really appreciated. The staff were really helpful and it is a great location for lots of hikes. As some one who is travelling south america on a budget and has stayed in many types of hostels, this was definitely one of the best.

“Would def stay again, if I'm going back”
Impressed by how clean the common areas, and especially the bathrooms/toilets were kept, given also how busy it was. Very helpful stuff. Restaurant downstairs open 24/7 making it super easy to accommodate needs at more... out of the ordinary times.

“Very friendly place, makes you feel welcome”
All employees were extremely friendly and helpful, I've seen so many smiles! The "Living room"- shared area is spacious and comfy, very relaxed! Laundry service (to pay, but quick and easy). The showers were recently refurbished - plenty and good. The Restaurant is 24/7 but our room was still quiet.
