Simple hotel, reasonable value for money considering the generally high prices in town. Very nice and friendly hotel stuf we only interacted through google translate though :) Breakfast starts at 7, so we did not catch it, If you don't want to pay the park fee for the hike , you need to head out before 7am.

“You can't go wrong staying here!”
This place is in an unbeatable location - everything you need is within walking distance, and the most popular trailheads are extremely close by. The breakfast was great, the room was nice, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. I also loved how clean everything was.

“Good Hosteria”
We liked our stay at Koonek. The rooms are comfortable, the stuff is friendly, the bathroom was great and we used the kitchen to cook and store food for the next day’s hikes.

The location was ok, close to the main tracking roads. The rooms are just like in the pictures, the bathrooms are modern. What we liked most was the help of Mrs. Maria. She answered all our questions and tried to help us with all the tracking roads and problems we had.

“Great place to stay in El Chaltén”
Hosteria Koonek is a nice place to stay! Rooms are nice and clean. Wifi is very good. Car can be parked in front of the Hosteria. Breakfast is okay. Really close to the trail to start the Laguna de Los tres hike

The room was big, bed was super confortable, also great bathroom. Staff was super friendly and helpful. There is a communal kitchen you can use.

“Good stay, recommended”
Fantastic location close to town centre and lots of restaurants around. Close to the starting point of many trails. Superb staff and we liked having access to the kitchen. Quick response to any issues that come up. Free parking.

“A little bit overpriced.”
The place is quite good. Nice flower garden is nearby the hotel. The receptionist was very helpful. The place is close to the start of the hiking. Morning meal was scarce a bit. The road to hotel is very poor and if you have a suitcase to roll please be sure you have a strong hands.

“A great place, comfortable rooms + shower, well priced, breakfast included and very helpful staff”
Koonek was a perfect place for our stay in El Chalten. It's located in a quiet area, 5 minutes walk to all the restaurants/shops and close to the start of a lot of the hiking trails. Maria was super helpful with any of our questions, offered great recommendations depending on the weather and the staff did all they could to make our stay enjoyable.

Good location, nice and helpful owners, they do laundry and if you ask they can arrange you transfer to the hiking trails which are furher. Breakfast is ok.
