They were very nice with us to help us to get a baby bathtub, since the bathrooms don’t have a tub—or at least the room we stayed in didn’t. The place is quite new, so everything is spotless and in great condition.

“Outrageous amount for a tiny room. Rude and offensive receptionist.”
Outrageous price for a tiny room where you can’t even open your suitcases. The bathroom is so cramped that the door hits the toilet, and the bidet is practically unusable due to lack of space. They overcharge for breakfast by about 30%. Instead of the advertised 30 USD, they charge 40 USD. The Booking acknowledged the issue and refunded us. We appreciate the platform’s fairness and customer care. Make sure to check your credit card statement and do not pay (!) in cash. In general, I do not recommend having breakfast at the hotel. Right across the street is a bakery called Don Luis, where everything costs about a third of the hotel’s prices and you can pay by credit card. The staff is arrogant, resorting to insults and threats toward guests.

“Wonderful Hostería centrally located in El Calafate”
The stay started with a wonderful check in process- we were given a welcome drink and chatted about recommendations for the area. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice en suite- we slept well in a comfortable bed. In the morning they again helped us with recommendations and drove us to the airport for a small fee.

We really enjoyed staying at Madre Tierra. The location is great, the place it’s clean but, most of all, the staff is amazing. Mariano helped us planning our trip, Matias was super kind and helpful and Rosa was gentle and very nice.
