“Quiet hotel in El Calafate”

Hostería is far from the city center, and this means a quiet place. The center can be easily reached by taxi to have dinner or just walk on the main street between shops. Moreover, Hostería provides dinner in the restaurant for its guests based on the menu. Breakfast has the form of a buffet. The rooms are spacy and well equipped.

Nothing I could say would truly capture the beauty of this place. It’s wonderfully simple, no fuss, no pretentiousness, and it doesn’t try to be anything other than what it is. Everything here is built with one purpose in mind: to let you fully immerse yourself in the surrounding nature. If you’re expecting a 4–5 star resort, this isn’t that. The rooms are basic, yes, but that’s also part of the charm. What truly stands out are the breathtaking views, the lovely staff, and the relaxed, inviting atmosphere they’ve created. Also bonus points for the cutest dog in Argentina! It feels comfortable in a way that made us instantly wish we had booked a longer stay. I have to give special mention to the dinner absolutely outstanding. It’s one of those meals you keep thinking about afterward. Definitely worth trying!

Wonderful rooms with a spectacular view, quiet at night, comfy beds, clean everything, yummy breakfast, free parking, good WiFi, close to el Calafate town centre, lovely staff, and on the side of town closest to the Perrito Moreno Glacier (easy to drive out).

This is truly a hidden gem of El Calafate. You will live in silence on a hill with a beautiful view of the lake. The price for this is a $5 taxi to the city center. The restaurant in the hotel is priced like in the city. What you need to know: the hotel is like a vintage museum - lots of common areas where you can sit, look at the lake and take a break from the activity. Good breakfasts from 6:30am to 10 BUT when we had to leave for an excursion earlier - breakfast was available for us at 6am. This helped us a lot and gave us a boost of energy! I think this is one of the best hotels in El Calafate and I recommend it to everyone

We liked the location with the most amazing views from our bedroom window. The staff were lovely, very helpful and always cheerful.

The personnel was amazing and super helpful! We even got a full breakfast before our early flight, with many options for allergies. View from the hotel and the room is perfect.

We had three enjoyable stays at La Estepa. The rooms have a view to die for with windows facing the lake. Big rooms, though a bit worn, with comfortable beds. The main building has a big lounge with comfortable sofas on the second floor, for even more views of the lake. Valeria in the reception is a gem. Simple but ok breakfast, though the coffee could have been better. Price performance is good.
