“Perfect place to stay”

Everything was perfect. Absolutely everything had been thought of. Very warm welcome, perfect location in beautiful town. Very clean accommodation.

“Fully equipped apartment with a warm welcome”

Well presented duplex apartment equipped above and beyond with everything we needed for our stay, as well as a few lovely treats on arrival. The hosts Raymond and Marlie live below and are so welcoming, showing us round in English and on hand for any queries. Marlie was even kind enough to print off her Saté recipe for me. There was plenty of space in the apartment for four, with full lounge and dining areas, and two separate bedrooms with comfy beds. In summer, the aircon and roof terrace are definite bonuses. The location was perfect, in beautiful Eijsden, just a few minutes walk to the river and foot passenger ferry over to Belgium, and easy walking distance to supermarkets and the train station into Maastricht. Although you cannot park directly outside the flat at certain times, we parked without problem in the neighbouring road and there are free carparks nearby complete with EV chargers. There are a number of eateries within a few steps of the apartment, and we can recommend Eetcafe Bie Meijs opposite for amazing Saté and Zuurvlees. We felt so welcome here and hope to return!

A beautiful flat above the owner’s house. The location is perfect - a couple of great restaurants are just next door, and shops, riverside and train station are all within walking distance. The flat is very comfortable, clean and easy to keep tidy. There’s a lovely terrace overlooking the village. The church nearby adds pleasantly to the atmosphere.

“Twice, the first and the last!”

The Booking.com instructions state the following: "A damage deposit of €100 must be paid. The property will charge the fee the day before arrival. The amount will be paid by bank transfer. The amount will be refunded to you upon check-out. The deposit will be fully refunded by bank transfer after an inspection of the property, approved by the property." The contradiction can be found in the sentences above: - not paid upon check-out. - the owner did not agree to our proposed inspection. There was no mention of the obligation anywhere, and the owner has not mentioned that the customer must wash the dishes. Normal international practice is that the customer leaves his dishes, towels, sheets and sand crumbs on the soles of his shoes in their places at the accommodation. It is the responsibility of the innkeeper/hotel to clean and check the condition and cleanliness of the room/rooms for the next customer. It is illogical to demand anything else. The argument that the dishwasher cannot be used because the next guest goes to bed at 3:00 PM is completely false. We left the key at 10:00 AM. We would have had 5 hours to wash the dishes, which would have been completely clean even with a 2-hour washing program. We consider that we are not responsible for the inefficiency of the owners' planning, and we do not accept the penalty of 15 euros. We even did more than is expected of the guests of the guesthouse. A well-started trip and a two-day program in Maastricht took on a very unpleasant tone due to the accusations made by the owner afterwards. If the owner is in urgent need of 15 euros, it would be fair to ask and explain the reasons face to face. We had decided to rent this apartment for a week in September, but gave up the idea due to this incident. And we cannot recommend the owner to anyone based on our own experiences. We will give this review to Tripadvisor and want it to be published among the reviews on Booking.com as well.

An excellent place to relax. Very quiet area. The place gives you air of tranquility. Well designed to meet your expectations.highly recommended. The couple that runs the place ate wonderful and customer friendly.
