Overview
Located in one of Bavaria’s oldest nature reserves in Eggstätt, Hotel Unterwirt is a 10-minute walk from Lake Hartsee. It offers free parking and a restaurant serving traditional Bavarian food. The Hotel Unterwirt features a beer garden, newly refurbished dining hall and a children’s play area. Guests can also enjoy a breakfast buffet each morning. The simple rooms feature a TV and private bathroom. Many rooms have a private balcony. The popular Lake Chiemsee and Prienavera adventure pool are both less than a 15-minute drive away. There are also several walking, hiking and cycling trails in the area surrounding the Unterwirt.

The hotel is very nice, beautiful, large parking, the staff is very friendly and polite. The hotel was quiet despite the large number of guests (the parking lot was full). The bathroom was clean, there was no refrigerator, but this was not a problem for us.

I found the breakfast very basic. The room was noisy because it was situated above the restaurant. The reception not permanently occupied, not a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is rather a restaurant with rooms for rent.

“An experience”
The hotel looked nice. I was only there to rest my head while passing through so didn't explore much of the hotel. It had a nice old character to it. I can't comment on breakfast as I didn't eat anything there. The room was fine.

Breakfast is quite good for this price point. Typical German standard. Clean room. Good "bayrisch" standard of the room fitting to the price point spot on. If you look for good bargain and do not have unrealistic expectations for this price, it is a very good choice. The restaurant is a good standard. I had the Forelle as Fish and it was quite good for the price.
