This bed and breakfast is located in a small village, and surrounded by nature. De Violier offers free Wi-Fi and a terrace. Assen is a 15-minute drive. Each functional room has exposed wooden beams and offers view on the garden. They have a seating area and TV. A shower is fitted in the bathroom. Breakfast is served each morning in your room. In good weather you can enjoy breakfast on the terrace. A restaurant is located within 900 metre from De Violier. Bicycle rental is available to explore the open nature around the bed and breakfast by bicycle. It is a 5-minute bicycle ride to the D12 dolmens. Dorpsmuseum De Kluis is a 7-minute walk from De Violier. Both Groningen and Veendam are 20 minutes by car. It is a 17-minutes’ drive to the A28 highway.

“A fantastic homebase for our time in the north of the Netherlands”
De Violier turned out to be a very pleasant base for our stay in Drenthe. Everything we needed was close by, yet the setting remained calm and peaceful. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were a real treat—different every morning and clearly prepared with care. What stood out most was the friendliness of the host, who made us feel genuinely welcome. We’d gladly stay here again.

“Wonderful Place”
We had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect – close to everything but still peaceful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and different every morning, which was a lovely surprise. The host was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

“Excellent”
Location is nice and quiet in the countryside. Very peaceful and use of the garden to relax. Excellent facilities and Annet was a very lovely host. Very reasonable price and I will definitely stay here again.
