Edam is a lovely quiet community where Dutch people live and work. There are definitely sites to see in the area (some cheese related of course), and busing is convenient. It really does take only 25 minutes to Amsterdam on route 314. Plenty of buses leaving Amsterdam Central to Edam until at least midnight. (Note that the Edam bus station does not have a ticket seller, but we bought Regional Passed at the petrol station across the road. I assume they have other bus tickets as well.) The space is large and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. (Fridge [more than large enough for vacation], microwave/convection oven, stove, toaster, espresso maker, kettle, pots, pans, dishes, and most other equipment needed to make a meal.) Living/dining/kitchen are open, with a separate large bedroom (1 King + 2 Twins). The master bath is well equipped, and a second toilet is situated between the bedroom and living area. The King bed is super comfortable. (We didn't try the twins.) Stairs only - 2 flights - but we saw that as good exercise rather than inconvenience. The unit on the side of pricey for 2 people, but a nice splurge to have the luxury of a peaceful area and loads of space. There is a small grocery very close by in Edam, but the supermarket is the next town over. Both are very walkable as long as you are prepared to carry your purchases back. There are a couple of convenient restaurants very close by. We didn't have a car, and it was perfectly convenient. For those with a car there is convenient parking at the bus station around the corner and a major road is by the parking area. The hosts are lovely. We didn't have any issues requiring their assistance during our stay, but they did arrange a ride to the airport for less than the cost of taxi/limo services.

Host was super friendly- left a cold bear in the fridge. Helped carried the luggage. Also- the accomodation is on a beautiful little canal- also very close to the centre of the village. Very good experience.

“Amazing hosts, apartment and I recommend to anyone”

The apartment was immaculate and had lovely hosts. I can't recommend this place any higher as it exceeded all expectations. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on and the kids said the same. Netflix was available and various other platforms also which meant we could relax on the comfy sofas and enjoy family time. Unfortunately I had a motor cycle accident a day before we left so I spent most of my time in the apartment and I enjoyed every minute of it. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook for the family but also you are only 2 mins away from pubs and restaurants which are child friendly. I really could of spent another week there no problems. I must say again that the owners are amazing people who helped us out of a bad situation which I won't go into but they understood our issue and helped where other people would not have cared so 10 out of 10 for the hosts, apartment, garden, 1 min from bus station and all in all it was an amazing time and I can't thank the hosts anymore. Next time we visit that area I wouldn't hesitate to book again and the photos do not do the place justice enough and I recommend for family trips or a nice couples vacation. We stayed after my motorcycle crash and I was in a bad way and they couldn't have been kinder as I couldn't take bins ect out as I couldn't walk and they understood this and for what they did for us as a family I will be forever grateful. If you are staying in Edam pay the extra and stay here you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful, newly renovated, spacious apartment in a great location to explore Edam or to take the bus into Amsterdam. The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect stay. They even provided a baby travel bed for our 5 months old son. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Distinguished interior, spacious rooms, fairytale surrounding, public transportation within a stone‘s throw (but no noise!), adorable hosts, lots of free parking pretty close, very clean, complete like a comfortable home
