Featuring a private beach area and views of sea, Cowrie Lodge at Cove Rock Country Estate is a recently renovated bed and breakfast set in East London, 400 metres from Cove Rock Beach. “Try again.”
Our beds were comfortable and it was nice to have a lounge for all of us to be together. Bev was very sweet and obviously stressed about having to put us up in a different property due to issues with hers. She kindly gave us an early morning ride to the airport which is a good 25 minutes away - appreciated that. Good security. Convenient for the airport and for that reason alone I’d come back if we were guaranteed a stay at Bev’s house.

This lodge is just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea. Bev, the host, made sure we had a great time. She even let us have the whole house to ourselves for privacy. The lodge is in a safe area, so we felt comfortable. We saw wildlife around, which added to the experience. We'll definitely come back here again.

“Perfect overnight stay for my business trip.”
Bev met me with a cheerful smile and showed me around. There is an excellent communal kitchen with a Nespresso machine (with pods!) My room was beautiful, spacious and clean, with a glass door onto a roomy deck. It's everything I could have needed for a business trip.

Spectacular setting with exquisite views of the ocean. Super comfortable spacious self-catering units, with great appliances. Very neat and quiet. The management is brilliant; very accommodating and super friendly. Not sure why anyone visiting East London will stay anywhere else. This is the perfect place.

“A hidden gem”
The hosts are amazing people. We arrived much later than planned and they happily accommodated us. The room was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

Awesome location next the beach. Bev was fantastic, she was always helpful and even offered me a lift to the airport which saved me from missing my flight thank you Bev, i highly recommend Cowrie lodge i will be back.

“Amazing place to stay near the coast”
We had an amazing stay at Cowrie Lodge. It’s a very safe and clean place, close to the beach for nice walks and (if you‘re lucky) whale watching. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. One of the best places we stayed on South Africa. We will come back. Thanks Beth for everything.
