“Wonderful accommodation in a great setting”

Our second stay at Funny Farm Shire was just as good as the first one. This time we stayed in the 2 bedroomed house which is exceptional. The fenced garden is large and perfect for our dogs. The house is spacious and full of quirky features. It feels that there is always something new to see. The building is great and I loved the big wooden doors and all the bespoke wooden features. The views are great and it is wonderful to have a walking trail on the premises. We enjoyed exploring all the paths, eg Gollums Way, Elf Path, Lonely Mountain Trail etc. The house is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Tessa and Russel are great hosts. We will certainly visit again.

“Great find”

The cottage is very cute and is well fitted out. It is fenced which was perfect for us with our dogs. Having a forest walk right on the grounds was a big bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks which were made even more fun by all the references made to The Hobbit. It is close to Kleinkranz Beach which is wonderful for dogwalks.

Peaceful and clean enviroment. The biggest bonus is that our fur-kids enjoyed it more.

The house, the venue, the scenery and the farm atmosphere was idyllic. My kiddos could feed and ride the horses - a 1st experience for them! Tessa and Russel are the lovrliest people who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - The Funny Farm Shire is a must for all city slickers lookikg for a beach and farm experience family holiday bundled into one. We will definitely return!!

the serenity, peacefulness and surroundings. we’ll set up and beautifully decorated with the theme of Lord of The Rings. everything about it was intentional and well thought out. the hosts were amazing, friendly, kind and always willing and available to their guests. when they said pet friendly… they meant it. we loved that our dog could have a little years of his own and didn’t have to be cooped up in our cottage the entire time. their dog also came to visit and played with our dog, which the kids also quite enjoyed.

“Awesome getaway”

We had a fantastic stay. The property is fenced off so my two large dogs could run around without worries. Beautiful view, and horses roaming around. The dogs and humans loved their walks in the forest! We also had great mobile connection to be able to work from the cottage. Tessa and Russell are great hosts!
