Overview
Located 7 km from the historical centre of Bruges and 5 km from Zeebrugge Seaside Resort and the North Sea, Herdersbrug Youth hostel offers free WiFi, a free fitness centre and a terrace . Bicycle rental is available. All rooms at the Herdersbrug come with private bathroom facilities and bunk bedding. Guests can watch TV in the common living room or have a drink on the terrace, which features a view of the nearby Canal Boudewijn. Breakfast is served daily on reservation. Packed lunches can be provided for your day trips. Herdersbrug Youth hostel is also equipped with vending machines with drinks and light snacks. -The breakfast was good. The juice was maybe for me, maybe really, weird tasting so dont take the juice maybe. The rest was good quality but you saw ofcourse it needed to be the cheapest options cheese, yoghurt, juice like from Everyday (cheap brand) -I had a mans room only for me, that felt pretty cool.

Mr Miguel that works in the reception is a great person! Also the views to the channel are stunning. The breakfast is basic but tasty.

Peaceful location in the countryside along a canal, nearby to the highway. Simple, no decoration but functional, like a budget motel. All room are at ground-floor (no stair or lift needed) and accessible to PRM (spatious corridor, spatious private bathroom). Alternative food options are offered on request for breakfast to people intolerant to gluten (special bread) or lactose (soja milk).

This is youth hostel open to public (made me feel young at 47) and it's functional rather than beautiful. Having said that, I loved the simplicity of the building, the bare dements on the wall, and the bedding being handed to you to put them on yourself. It was a wonderfyl place and great surprise,. The view is a bonus: you have the river next to you and can enjoy the morning quiet.
