Overview
This 13th-century castle offers unique rooms with original features in a peaceful setting, 25 minutes’ drive from Utrecht. Sterkenburg boasts lush grounds and elegant public spaces with stained glass. Kasteel Sterkenburg has rooms with wooden floors and views over the surrounding countryside. Each of the rooms has a private bathroom and does not have a TV so that guests can relax in this quiet setting. The spacious gardens include a terrace with barbecue facilities. A continental breakfast is served in the former gardener’s house each morning. Breakfast can also be served in-room or on the terrace. The centre of historic Amersfoort is 30 minutes away by car. Sterkenburg Kasteel is a 20-minute drive from the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. The historic centre of Amsterdam is 45 minutes by car. Free private on-site parking is available at the castle.

The location was stunning, the castle was beautiful, and the rooms were amazing. The beds were very comfortable and the staff were super friendly, very welcoming and accommodating. We were made very welcome and were looked after very well. Breakfast was a delight and very tasty, with everything being locally sourced.

“I felt like a princess for a day 😊”
A totally unique experience. It was wonderful to be given a tour of the castle and learn about its history. The dining room where breakfast was served was very opulent, and breakfast was very good. Two lovely lounge areas to use when desired. It was a wonderful night to experience sleeping in a castle.

The property and castle has so much history, it was amazing to learn about it. The duty manager was great and very knowledgable. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. Our group had a very good time, we would recommend anyone to stay here.
