A beautiful designed property in a beautiful setting as well. The hosts (Leana & Knutur) were very responsive to any questions we had and are very welcoming. The room was very comfortable & the breakfast was excellent. Wish we could have had more than 1 night there!

“Drangar exceeded all expectations!”

My wife and I spent 12 days driving the ring road around Iceland. Drangar County Guesthouse was the last of our accommodations (except the airport hotel before early flight home). Of the 8 places we stayed, this was by far the best. Every place we stayed was great but Drangar was exceptional. The hosts greeted us upon arrival and gave us a wonderful welcome. They took the time to show us around the property and told us about the history and process of transforming from farm buildings into this amazing guesthouse. Our room exceeded expectations and made our last two nights that much more comfortable. They hosted breakfast and provided excellent recommendations and tips for our time on Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We would absolutely stay here again if we ever make it back to Iceland. I cannot express how much we loved our time at Dranger Country Guesthouse! Thank you!

Great stay! Knútur was a very welcoming host and introduced the house to me. The historic exterior combined with the stylish modern interior made the place unique and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Was a boutique guesthouse with exceptional facilities! The whole property was very thoughtfully designed and decorated. The location was very beautiful and picturesque. And most of all the host was very welcoming and very proactive and we really enjoyed her hospitality!

There‘s nothing not to love. The hosts are fantastic - super welcoming and warm and more than happy to give their best advice on the surroundings. The buildings on site are spectacular in preserving history but adding every amenity one might need. Great breakfast - super comfy beds (we slept like babies) but nothing beats the location - just wow. We caught a terrific sunset that we‘ll remember forever and will definitely be recommending this place to anyone visiting Iceland! I‘d definitely recommend staying two nights (or more)

Lovely location and view on the fjord Warm welcome from the couple of guests, Leana made sure we always had every we need with our baby during the stay and gave us lots of advices to see around We were lucky enough to have the common part of the house just for us, much appreciated on a rainy day! Drangar in Iceland is an absolute hidden gem! The accommodation is located in a breathtaking area, surrounded by untouched nature and spectacular landscapes. The hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our time there was great – perfect tranquility, stunning surroundings and a very special atmosphere in this renovated farm! One important thing to keep in mind: the access road is a gravel road, so plan accordingly the car rental! 😉

Wonderful location in the middle of the epic Icelandic landscape, maybe a bit remote but that's what we were looking for. The room, as the whole guesthouse, was modern, very clean and of high quality architecture. There is even a cooking/dining area for all guests to enjoy. Furthermore the breakfast was great, the hosts were welcoming and (child)friendly. It is a quiet place, perfect to enjoy the scenery and the ever changing weather. Ten out of ten, would come again!

Unique hotel lovingly designed and furnished. Breakfast was wonderful. Hosts were very friendly and down to earth. Hotel is out of the way which I liked, beautiful vistas. There is a kitchen area with all the dinnerware, utensils, etc. that you'll need- no restaurants or food stores nearby so I recommend bringing groceries. If you are using Drangar as a base then you can eat out during your daily forays.
