“Fantastisch”
We had a fantastic weekend at the apartment. Although it is located right by the main road, there is absolutely no noise disturbance. Because the house is situated a bit lower, you can also enjoy a beautiful view. The apartment is just outside the busy city, but within a few minutes you are in the center. A Lidl nearby is also very convenient. The apartment is spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The dishwasher was a great plus. What made our stay extra special was that the owner had filled the fridge with milk, wine, and beer. There were also essentials like salt, pepper, sugar, and dishwasher tablets – small details, but they really make a big difference. Hvala na gostoprimstvu!

Fabulous views, very friendly host. Arrived to treats in the fridge - very welcome after an early start! Facilities - air con, TV and kitchen - are excellent, & the host is very responsive to answer questions. Crikvenica is a busy tourist town & bus connections are good. Local taxis are efficient & friendly. The town beaches get busy early in the morning in August, so be prepared to get up & out first thing, or hop on the local road-train to take you along the coast a short distance. Diving in Croatia is beautiful - we used the PADI dive centre in Selce, which was fantastic - equipment was in excellent condition, everyone was friendly & extremely knowledgeable. It’s quite a long walk (about 4 or 5 miles), but there are hourly buses. I believe there’s also a dive centre in Crikvenica, although I didn’t try it out. It’s worth checking out day trips at the bus station when you arrive if you don’t have a car. There’s a once-weekly trip to the National Park at Plitvica jezera, which is absolutely stunning & well worth a visit. There is a lovely circular hike - the Love Trail - that you can pick up in town or (as we did) take the small path on the other side of the main road behind the house which meets the trail roughly half way. It’s marked with unobtrusive but clear symbols through woodland & across the rocky hillside. Most of it is pathways, & although there is a short section which is trickier, this can be avoided/left out. Stunning views across the mountains & out to sea, lovely shady sections through the trees & even a castle. Information boards tell you about local history, flora & fauna. Travelling further afield, you’ll need a car - but it’s well worth a trip up towards Opatje to see the magnificent architecture, promenades & designer boutiques. Eating out here is similar to UK prices, but service is impeccable - friendly, helpful & efficient.
