Wonderful stay outside of Drake in the middle of nature. The family around Guillermo shows immense hospitality. The lodge's garden is wonderful to spot animals and to relax. The varying food was really good especially considering the secluded area. Close to the lodge (it is located a little bit up the hill in the "jungle") you can find superb beaches. As we travelled at the end of the season, we partly layed alone at the beaches. The beaches are partly rocky in the area and partly with sand (alternating, you can swim). Thanks for these days (we stayed additional two nights).

“A place run with love and care”

From the moment we arrived by boat and were greeted with a warm welcome from Guillermo and his son, we felt looked after. This is a place run with love and care. Nice home cooking and you can fill up your water bottle from a larger bottled supply. Beautiful gardens to relax in (hammock provided!). We spotted toucans, a tayra (we think) scarlet macaws and much more. Guillermo was helpful organising trips - we went snorkeling at Cano Island, and into Corcovado National Park. Both were great days out (back in the hammock by 2.30pm each day!).

Guillermo is the perfect host. He helped us and welcomed us beyond every expectation. He kept our bags while we were in Corcovado National Park for the night and came to pick us up at the beach at our arrival. The room is nice and well equipped and the food was very good (dinner is included which is a nice addition). The location is a bit remote but it’s worth it because you will be surrounded by nature and birds and peace! We managed to see a Tucan as well!

The place is beautiful nature all around monkeys birds butterflies. The staff were amazingly nice and friendly. The location is in the jungle but near the beach. Room was large and the bed was comfortable. The full board - 3 meals were very good.

Guillermo, Issac, and the rest of the staff were incredibly generous, highly efficient, and approachable. They made this the best vacation ever. They were gracious hosts, knowledgeable guides, and extremely friendly.

“A little piece of heaven on earth.”

The family who own the property could not be more helpful. The location is fantastic, a small piece of paradise 5 minutes walk from a beautiful secluded beach. We saw many beautiful birds, including toucans, in the garden. The sea view was great and we loved the hammocks, it’s a wonderful place to relax. The owners are happy to arrange a variety of excursions, including Corcovado National Park. Although simple, the accommodation is pristine and very comfortable. The food was homemade and delicious.

Top views into the garden, where all kinds of animal can be seen. They really take care about the details.... Good food and extrenely friendly hosts.

All the staff were so helpful and very accommodating. It was my parents 40th wedding anniversary and they went out of their way to make the room nice and provide a bottle of celebratory wine.

“One of the most beautiful places to stay in Costa Rica”

Up a hill with lots of wildlife. Look on to ocean from our bungalow. It’s basic but it’s honest about that & the family are so helpful, accommodating & provide excellent meals. Lovely safe beaches on door step of accommodation. Great walks. Make sure you do the snorkel trip to Cano island and the Corcovado National park trip offered by the accommodation. Boat trips were fun!

We had a really great stay at the Sunset Tucano lodge. The owner was really helpful over message and helped arrange our boats from Sierpe and our 2D1N trip to Corcovado. On arriving he very kindly met us at the boat and carried our bags to the lodge, which was really helpful as it was pouring with rain. Our room was really nice, and had a nice veranda where you could see animals. The food at the lodge was some of the best we had in Costa Rica and the lodge was in a great location to hike the Drake bay trail and there was beach nearby where we were the only people, and it had quite big waves! We had a great time on the Corcovado tour and we would highly recommend the 2D1N, as we spotted almost all the animals over the two days. We had looked at booking ourselves direct with a tour operator but the prices were fairly similar/ cheaper booking with Sunset Tucano and we were glad we booked with them. As we were fortunate to get a guide for just the two of us and our guide Freiner Pérez was brilliant, he had 15 years experience and so much knowledge and he was amazing at spotting animals and so enthusiastic.

The location was amazing. Right in the middle of the jungle. Lot's of animals and birds arrownd. Lovely hosts, good food. Clean and comfortable room. We had cold water showers but didn't care. This is the Ideal place if you want an authentic and relaxed vacation. Not suitable for people who search for luxury... We fell in love in the stuff ❣️ had wonderful tours Which they recommended. Felt sorry to leave

Isaac, the owner, took very good care of us. He helped us out when we were stupid enough try to drive there with the frontwheel drive in the beginning of the rainyseason... The location is on point. Isaac organized us to take the trip with boat to Corcovado from the near by beach. But to be honest, we saw almost as much animals on the yard of the lodge and the near by... We saw Aras, Tucan, monkeys, coatimundis and many big birds without going to Corcovado.

“A beautiful place to stay, we loved it!”

This was just the most wonderful stay, Guillermo and his family were so warm, friendly and helpful, they made us feel so at home. The place itself is absolutely stunning and the cabin was perfect, it felt remote but still with all the comforts you need. The food was all outstanding, we were a little nervous about full board but we were delighted with the food each day and were very well fed! Guillermo organised a Corvovardo tour for us which was great, and we also did a wonderful night tour on the grounds which we loved. The boats to collect and drop off were all sorted for us and it all ran very smoothly, the staff helped us with our bags and we felt we were in safe hands! We were able to explore the local area and just fell in love with the place. We absolutely loved sitting and watching the animals from the cabin, it is a truly special place and we will definitely return.
