We had a lovely stay at Corcovado Guest House. The host Mike was very nice and had good and helpful tips about the area. The house is quietly located on the edge of the primary rainforest. We woke up one morning to a white-faced capuchin monkey in the garden! The house really exceeded our expectations!

“Beautiful off the beaten track paradise”

Mike was a really great host and a lovely guy. He was very helpful with booking tours etc, nothing too much trouble, very laid back and friendly. Very good communication before the stay too, especially with helping to arrange things that book out quickly like tickets to corcovado park. The property itself is beautiful, and I believe built by Mike himself. Its very well equipped for self catering. Aesthetically it is very balanced with the surroundings as its built from bamboo and stone, but with a modern, comfortable and stylish interior. The gardens are right on the edge of the rainforest so often visited by cool animals and birds. There is a small.local restaurant which is worth a visit nearby, plus a supermarket. For anything else it's good to have your own transport or ask Mike to book a local ATV so you can visit the beautiful local beach. I understand there is also a waterfall nearby but we didn't make it as we had lots of other things booked and liked the beach too much! Overall I'd highly recommend a stay here!

As was stated in the previous reviews, the accomodation is super nice, comfy, well equipped, in a beautiful location further from the town in the middle of the nature, if you travel by car, the 4x4 wheel is needed to get there, and if you dont have a car (like us), I still recommend this place! Mike is a great host, friendly, very helpful, nothing was a problem, very cool, giving us tips, managing arrangements for us... We really enjoyed our stay here. Pura vida!

The house feels really homely, the kitchen is well equipped. Nice rooms, comfy beds, clean bathroom. You can spot many animals just from the terrace outside. Most of all Mike is a really cool guy! Funny, helpful and makes you feel very welcome. Thanks Mike! We really enjoyed our stay with you!

“A must stay!”

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip around Costa Rica. Mike's place is wonderful. Such a natural setting on the edge of the rainforest, surrounded by nature. We saw so many animals from within the garden. We much prefer being further inland away from the hustle and bustle of the main Drake Bay. We did so many activities, some free, some paid. Our advice is talk to Mike, he is such a great guy with a lovely positive energy and he knows everything you can do and we have much to thank him for. The place is very well equipped with all the cooking appliances etc you could need. Fridge freezer, comfy beds, hammocks in the garden, dining table. The houses are very well designed. It's cosy and spacious. Also some books and games were there. There is also a washing machine which we needed. Thank you Mike, can't wait to be back!

Amazing location in the middle of the jungle. The house is build by the owner and is fantastic in details. It's clean and your surrounded by nature. Mike is a fantastic host and build a real paradise out there. One of the best stays we ever had!

“Wonderful stay in nature”

If you love living in the nature, nothing is better than Mike guesthouse. The place is on the border of Corcovado Park. Our private room with bathroom, had 180 degree view on the garden. There is a shared kitchen with another room. In the garden full of plants, in the morning birds are singings. In the evening we spotted in the wonderful garden, tucans, ara macaos, monkeys, aguti. Mike, the host, is very friendly helpful and ready to make arrangements for any visits/booking in the area. He sorted out everything for us, booking the boat Sierpe /Bahia Drake/Sierpe, Corcovado park visit. When we left, we felt we had made a new friend.

“Perfect quiet place in the middle of the jungle”

I can only reassure the rest of the comments written for this accommodation. This place is amazing! We stayed for 3 nights in the individual cabin Mike (the host) just built, which is ideal for two people. It has its own bathroom and its own kitchen completely equiped, so it is perfect for cooking breakfast or dinner (which we did every day). The place is a bit far from Drake, 15min drive with the car, so take this into account when booking it. We were looking for a quiet place in the middle of the jungle, and this is exactly it. The only thing you hear is the nature: papagayos, monkeys and cicadas. We arrived there with our 4x4, but Mike also offers to drive you around, or pick you up whenever you need in case you don't have a car with you. When booking the accommodation, you get some info of how to arrive there by car or ship, some tips on how to drive around (Corcovado's roads are not the best, but at least there are bridges in every river you need to cross to arrive to the accommodation), and suggestions on what to do in the area. Mike also did us the favour of booking for us a guided tour in the national park, because there were very limited places. He was super helpful and it was very nice to get to know him and his story with the place. Really a very nice place to stay and for good money!

Mike the owner is really a great guy! Besides that the location and facilities are top!

“Fabulous place right next to the rain forest.”

Mike is such a wonderful host, absolutely outstanding. I'm really not sure where to start, there's so much to say about his amazing project, a beautiful garden with many exotic plants and trees, a number of absolutely stunning wooden and bamboo tree houses, designed and built with love, and Swiss accuracy. You'll find a well equipped kitchen, which shouldn't leave anything to be desired, even for the ambitious chef. Mike provided us with many useful information about the rain forest, where to go and where not, how to behave while enjoying all the wildlife in the surroundings. One evening, Mike did light a bonfire and we grilled vegetables and red snapper, which he bought fresh from a local fisherman. We're so grateful for this lovely stay and the really great time, thank you Mike, you're a great host and we love your project and all the love you put into it. Definitely a highlight of our six weeks trip through Costa Rica.

This was a hidden paradise right inside the jungle. There are beautiful trails there and the whole peninsula is amazing. Mike is a wonderful host who takes care after his guests and he had lots of good tips.
