“Stillness with birdwatching and Sea View”

The family that owns Casa Horizontes is super responsive, and flexible. There is AC in the room, there are 4 types of breakfast menus to choose from and you have the pleasure of eating staring at the Bay and with birds all over you! I saw Tucans, Macaws, hummingbirds, one Aguti, and 2 capuchi monkeys! They had an adaptor in the room and were always very responsive to all my questions through watsapp. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and taken care of!

“Absolutely beautiful stay, in touch with nature”

Absolutely amazing place, the photos do not do it justice! Felt like we were immersed in nature with agouti, hummingbirds, monkeys, iguanas and a huge array of birds seen during our stay! All the staff were so friendly and had excellent communication throughout our stay to help with any small thing. The breakfast was delicious and filling with an amazing view to be enjoyed each day. The rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable. Only a short walk into town, key tour pick up points and delicious restaurants

“Amazing views and”

We loved the views the from our room and at breakfast. The family were amazing hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Drake bay was lovely too, felt like untouched paradise! 😍 We came to see Corcovado National park but didn’t expect to enjoy Drake bay so much! We wished we had stayed longer. The walk you can do from the house along the shoreline and to other beaches was lovely.

The private Air Con villa was fab. The balcony hasa lovely view of the sea. The breakfast was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.

“A little slice of Costa Rican paradise”

A really well located spot in Drake Bay with excellent facilities and service. The hosts were particularly charming - giving us fruit and homemade drinks on arrival, and an excellent breakfast with the best view ever. They looked after our luggage during our overnight trip to Corcovado and helped arrange our transfers. It felt very homely and genuinely Costa Rican.

Amazing location, views during breakfast were unbelievable! Grethin is a superstar, organised our entire trip, sending reminders before every excursion and checking in with us after we returned each time. Breakfast team put every effort into making it special and all staff were warm, inviting and very helpful. 10/10 across the board!

We were a group of 4 families in large house and in bungalow for 4. It's a family run bussiness and I can't say enough about how wonderful are the owners. They really made us feel welcomed and helped us in 1000 ways (reserving restaurants, doctor visits, getting the medicine, organizing tours....). The property is on beautiful location overlooking the bay and breakfast was excelent. From the terrace of the house we saw toucans, hummingbirds, iguana, agouti., monkeys...

“Wonderful stay - little paradise and amazing hosts.”

We had an amazing stay at Casa Horizontes. Our cosy bungalow had its own balcony and was surrounded by trees with a view of the sea. Capuchin monkeys regularly came past but didn't ever come onto the balcony. The breakfasts were substantial and super delicious and were available even at 5.20am which was helpful for the early start tours. The breakfast bar had spectacular views of the sea and a variety of tropical birds came to the feeding station. Well worth the $12. The property has a perfect location - just a few minutes to the beach where the tours leave from. The path is very steep and slippery in wet weather but there are small steps for a safe walk up or down. They recommended a local restaurant called Bucanero which had the best food we have eaten in Costa Rica. We ate there 4 times. Our lovely hosts checked in via Whatsapp to see we had everything we needed and to make any arrangements.

Lovely people and a good location

The view during breakfast was amazing, and we enjoyed all the animals that showed themselves in the gardens. The personnel was excellent - very helpful, communicative and thoughtful. We could book transfers and guided tours through the hotel

Amazing jungle views from the patio (so many birds and iguanas!), prompt room cleaning, friendly staff happy to arrange tours and provide local information.

“Fabulous stay, can’t recommend enough.”

Incredibly friendly and hospitable hosts, arranged the boat from Sierpe for us and greeted us at the beach to drive us to the property despite it being very close (but uphill, so we appreciated the lift with our luggage). We were then given fresh fruit and lemonade on the balcony with stunning views of Drake Bay and surrounded by birds and other wildlife. Location is perfect, easy to catch the boat for tours and Sierpe and nearby shops & restaurants. Thank you so much to Jami, Pedro & Greta for a wonderful stay.

We loved it here. The hosts were amazing. So helpful and friendly. The view from the breakfast bar was stunning. We saw macaws, monkeys and lots of other birds up close.
