The host family was very nice. Despite the language barrier, the family and especially Lucas helped us a lot. They helped us organize a tour to Sirena and a snorkeling and diving tour. Both tours were fantastic and everything worked great. The food at the family restaurant is also very delicious.

“Hidden gem of Costa Rica”

Hands down the best place we've stayed in Costa Rica! The food is so good and affordable unlike most places in this part of Costa Rica. Their tours are cheap and really good. We spent a lot of time watching the sunrise, sunset and insane amount of birds from the mirador. There were many hawks, hummingbirds, macaws and toucans everyday. The room was large and comfortable. I loved sleeping every night to the sounds of frogs and smelling ylang ylang plucked from the garden. If you go during the right season, you will see whales, dolphins, even some wild cats during migration. They gave us lots of tips for the hikes and beaches around. Very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the forest as the family have been in the same spot for over 50 years. They also gave us walking sticks for the hike and goggles to see underwater on the next beach over. Take the boat here (Playa Rincon de San Josecito) instead of driving, unless you're confident crossing 4 rivers. For the evening boat from Sierpe - we paid USD35 pp and in the morning to return to Sierpe we paid USD20.

The food was just delicious, everything was made fresh and we got to taste delicious fruits. Would 100% recommend everyone to eat here, best food I’ve had in CR. Lucas showed us around the place and new all the trees and birds and animals. The view is just breathtaking. You want to capture it in a picture, but it’s impossible.

It's paradise. Very quiet and remote, a lot of birds and stunning sunsets. We were so happy not to be in Drake, but in this magical place in which we felt like at the end of the world. The food is good and the owner has a lot of stories to tell. Spanish very useful. Try to get a room with sea view.

“A magic place”

This place is fabulous. Great location, wonderful people, delicious food and so much to see and do. We’ve loved every second of our stay in Bella Vista. We’ve had the pleasure of staying for 4 nights in Bella Vista. The Hotel has 8 rooms, a restaurant and a viewing platform. It is nicely situated in the beautiful landscape and from the hotel you can see lots of birds. The garden is amazing with numerous beautiful flowers and fruit trees, there is a lot to see. To the beach is a ten minute walk downhill, and this beach is sandy and absolutely stunning and wonderful for swimming, or just walking along. There are a few hiking trails along the coast to other beaches. There’s a lot to discover and even without doing tours it can keep you busy for several days. There are very few people here and mostly we’ve had the whole beach to ourselves. The hotel has simple rooms which are clean and some have a bathroom and others have shared facilities. From our room we had a beautiful view and we’ve been very happy there. The restaurant offers a nice selection of meals and everything has tasted very well. If we asked for something special, we always got what we wanted. Fresh coconut, fruit juices, Ceviche, Casado, fish, beef or chicken. It has all been excellent and the prices are very low for what you get. What really stands out is the people who work here. They have all been so nice and helpful and we have felt very welcome at all times. We even felt like we were a part of the family and in the end we were very sad that we had to leave.

It is a nice accommodation with family atmosphere and friendly stuff. The view point - bella vista - is exeptional. We also enjoyed near beach. It was great to have 1 mile long pacific sandy beach only for ourselves :-) Nice place to rest!

Accommodation is basic, but was fine for us. The room had a shared veranda with a hammock overlooking the most amazing view. The owner is really nice and happy to arrange your trips. There's a restaurant on site serving traditional Costa Rican food whihc was all really nice. The main thing about this place is the location. Its up ona hill overlooking the sea. Its a remote spot so very peacful and you can walk donw to the beach in about 5-10mins. The area in general is stunning. By far the most "off the beaten" area we went to in Costa Rica. I'd recommend the Sirena station day trip as well as the Isla De Cano snorkelling. There's also a ncie coastal walk into Drake Bay which passes lots of beautiful beaches.

“Wonderful family ruled hotel in a special environment”

The family working there is so wonderful. only stayed four nights but we really felt at home. the view is very nice. you can hike from there to the scretch of the national park by yourself. the beach has an awesome rural charme, we loved it, rough for swimming but if you take care it is fine, you will have the beach sometimes for yourself. The hotel is super clean

Amazing location but make sure to arrive with a 4x4 vehicle because the street might get flooded by the river (also during dry season).

it is a family run business where everyone will make the best in its will to have you have the best time there. we can arrive with the boat directly to the beach in front of the hotel, and they will help you take your luggage up. the few from the sea view room and the restaurant is amazing. and from the sunset desk ! we hear only birds and wawes, déconnection is total. and the walk around are nice as well. hot nice shared showers and bathroom.

Most amazing view and surroundings. Super sweet people! We saw a toucan, many colibries and parrots. I never ever saw so many stars in my life. And you wake up from the sounds of the nature. Ask for the banana chippies. They were my favorite!

“Little oasis in the Osa”

Great location for those who wanna relax far from the tourist masses. Beautiful beaches nearby. Small family restaurant with delicious local food. Friendly staff! Rooms are rather simple, yet clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay a lot!
