Stayed in a room with private bathroom in the former brothel of the Los Mineros place. Rooms are rustic but functional. Wifi works great, bed is comfortable and has a mosquito net. Very quiet location pretty much right in the jungle. Last 8 kilometres are on a dirt road, easily passable with a normal car without 4x4. Hosts are exceptionnel people, very friendly and helpful. Suzanna is multilingual (Spanish, English, German, French; maybe even more?) and helps you with everything you need. Channy is your friendly and knowledgable guide for every tour you want to do. Speaks Spanish only with a few crumbs of English. Despite this you learn more about land, plants and animals than with most English speaking guides. Incredible tours. If you are looking for a place and experience off the beaten path and away from mass tourism, this is your place to go.

“Lush gardens and amazing hospitality.”
Even more beautiful than the photos, lush gardens right in the forest. Spotting toucans and hummingbirds from the garden. Incredibly attentive and helpful staff took care of all of our needs, arranging and cooking dinner, breakfast, cold beers, and arranged a guided tour of El Tigre trail on very short notice.

“The call of the jungle”
Suzanne, the host, is very nice, helpful and communicates in several languages. She sent us excellent directions by text message so we wouldn't get lost following her GPS suggestions. Her husband Channy was our tour guide, who is not only very nice but is actually a native of the jungle. He knows all about the local wildlife and tailored a tour for us that would make us maximally happy...and beyond. The accommodation is not up to my usual European standard of comfort, but no insects or lizards came into the room at night. So I would recommend to everyone that after a refreshing shower you just close your eyes and enjoy the sounds of the jungle. I feel that our trip to Costa Rica was crowned by Channy's fantastic tour!!!

“Cozy place on the border to jungle.”
The history of the place is amazing: a gold rush time village bar, that used to have also a brothel and jail (now restroom and shower). Suzanne has created a very cozy place with a wide common area and different sorts of accommodations. It was fun talking and sharing experiences with her aswell as other visitors. The place has a nice wibe and Blue Morpho butterflies flying in the yard. We went on Matapalo and night tours with Shanny - they were both a great experience.

Right on the edge of the Corvavado national park. Great hosts and very knowledgeable guide to the Jungle - we saw so much wildlife that we would have missed on our own. Highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. And we had a private pool !!

“Just an amazing down to earth experience 👌”
Total eco seclusion in prime rainforest… dont expect all mod cons but this place is a gem in a great wildlife location. Suzanna and Channi are just the best hosts. I will be back to find that Black-cheeked Ant Tanager one day soon 😊👍

“One with nature”
Being directly around the forest + the pool to cool down, where you can spot monkeys. The place in itself has a lot potential but needs some work to reach it

“Los Mineros”
Situated right on the edge of the forest. Howler monkeys right behind the guest house in the morning. If you want to see some snakes make sure you do the night walk!!

This is a great guesthouse in a fantastic location. Suzanna is a very helpful and knowledgeable host, happy to sit and chat with her guests. Chani is a brilliant local guide and it's well worth going out on one or more of his tours. There are many options to walk locally in the Golfo Dulce reserve, which is stunning. You will see lots of wildlife without straying too far from the guesthouse. Overall, we really enjoyed our 6 nights at Los Mineros and were sad to leave.

“Welcome to the jungle”
I really liked this place. The environment, contact with nature and Channy's attention. I recommend taking the tours they offer, you won't regret it. Overall it was a fantastic experience. We cannot forget that we are in the jungle and don't have the comfort of a hotel and.. many good things are happening :)

“Off the beaten track ; great tours”
Suzanna and Channy are great hosts; we did a day tour with Channy to Matalpalo and saw monkeys, sloth, macaws, pelicans - & more plus swam in waterfalls and at a beautiful beach. Just four of us plus guide and so good. Night tour also special. Very relaxed at property; big open air dining / sitting area and use of kitchen. Room very basic but clean and adequate ; cold water only ; fan on wall & mosquito net provided though not needed. Free good wifi.
