An amazing experience we will never forget

The location and hospitality of the personnel. The house is open (no windows, nothing) but sleeping there was great, hearing the sounds from the forest (from inside the mosquito net). We did a few tours with Kerley and that was great. He is calm, very knowledgeable and great with kids. We also went horse riding in the direct environment, through the village, along (and through) the river and into the jungle. An amazing experience. The family that takes care of Amazonita is sweet and warm, they made us feel very welcome. We were sad to leave.

An experience never to be forgotten

Whilst we all loved the experience of staying here and wouldnt change it, it was not what we expected in terms of accommodation and we wouldnt re-book. The experience of the jungle was priceless and we loved the jungle living but the accommodation was not as it is advertised and the people "looking after us" were (whilst very nice) a bunch of young lads because the owner was away.

Amazing

The lodges are very pretty and fully equipped of everything you need. The forest is amazing and it is a cool experience to sleep in it. The your owner is very nice, always kind and friendly like his family. You can have breakfast and dinner cooked by them and the food is simple but very good. The road to get there is doable with 4x4 wheels car.

Loved the location and being in the jungle. Great night walk with local guide too.

Being right in the jungle and able to watch toucans, macaws and motmots from a deck chair with no windows between us and the forest was great. We had hummingbirds flying through the kitchen - what's not to like? It might be a bit wild for some but it was just what we wanted.

This kind of lodging was a new concept for us, but it was hands down the best place we stayed in in Costa Rica. It feels like you sleep in the heart of rain forest and yet you have the comfort of the hotel. We had a bit of a hard time with the water heater in the shower, it sort of worked, but other than that it was amazing.

Where to begin... it feels like its out of this world. Pure, authentic Costa Rica. The owner received us with open arms. He is a real character, was a good laugh! And then we met William and Zulay the couple that manage the houses, lovely lovely people. Zulay cooks very good! Delicioso! The house up on a hill is breathtaking, stairway to heaven and everything you need is in it. What an experience to sleep amongst the jungle residents. The people in the village are so friendly and visit the little pulperia. The owner will tell you about the gold they find there ( dos Brazos is a gold miners village). Unfortunately we had a flat tire but the owner immediately helped us and William changed it for us. The night tour with Kerley is also to be recommended. We saw a lot of animals and an owl was screeching in the night. Lovely! If you are looking for a special off the grid place: go to Amazonita lodge! Its wonderful.

A beautiful and comfortable cabin, a private aerie with views perched amidst the rainforest.

A beautiful, private and airy wood cabana with tile floors, perched on a hill with a spectacular view out over the rainforest. Dawn serenades you with the bird and howler monkey chorus, as you sip tea/coffee and swing in the porch hammock. An aerie retreat after a long hike on the easily accessible trails into Corcovado NP. Zulay was amazingly generous and accommodating, cooking vegetarian meals for us, including a foot long sandwich for our to-go picnic lunch.

Lack of communication while on site is a huge problem

The tours that we took were run by enthusiastic and professional guides. We went horseback riding along the Rio Tigres to a local swimming spot.  We also saw lots of amphibians and bugs during the night hike, and a great variety of birds during the birdwatching tour. These tours were the highlight of our stay in Dos Brazos.

Genuinely remote lodge, edge of jungle. Simple but charming.

Right in the forest - no glass in windows and quite basic but very lovely. Nets keep the mosquitos at bay and great to wake up to the sounds of the jungle. 3 lodges, large 'outdoor' kitchen and simple food (fish or chicken for dinner, 'traditional' breakfast). No wifi or mobile signal. Guide speaks good English and very knowledgable.

An authentic experience

The Location was outstanding. From our lodge we could observe animals like spider monkeys and tucans. The lodge had also a small kitchen (eventough it was not mentioned in the description). Dos Brazos was a really fascinating and peaceful place where we got quickly in touch with locals. Everyone knows each other there :) The people working at and with Amazonita are absolutely georgous. The food was amazing, they helped us organizing trips and daily activities. We received tons of informations about the area and about tours you can do there or at Corcovado. We would have loved to stay longer but it was already booked :) Also, we wanted to go to Sirena but had to cancel the trip while being on the boat due to bad weather conditions. We did not have to pay anything (except the entrance reservations) eventough our guide had to get up at 4am and we already spent an hour on the boat (which was covered by Amazonita). I think this example shows how welcoming and caring the people are. We can only recommend staying there. We had no problem with it but one should not be afraid about small insects and bats (none in our bed). Instead you should be able to appreciate the nature around you. The stuff knows a lot about the animals and are able to help with unpleasant guests. We felt really safe because we knew they could help us anytime. In my opinion, one should stay at least 4 nights to fully enjoy the location and the area.

Corcovado is the place in CR if you like nature - and Amazonita is the place to stay!!!

Zephirin has created a paradise at the end of the world, which is nicely taken care of by Zulay and her husband. It is really at the end of any roads and tracks going into the jungle (4WD recommended). But this is what we liked most. We stayed in the last cabin with a huge rain forest behind us. Our cabin was open, though very nice and clean. We could stay endlessly on the terrasse, observing the rain forest with all its animals. Never do a Costa Rica trip without Corcovado and Amazonita Ecolodge!!! It was clearly our highlight (and we have seen a lot other places)!
