Delightful old style Greek rooms with fabulous balcony and well kitted out. Very comfortable mattress. There are few mosquitoes on Donoussa but it only needs one… and they know I’m coming…so a mosquito net or door screen would have been welcome. We loved the situation. Loukas pleasant and helpful and kindly gave us lifts to port.

Pick-up from the port and return by the extremely friendly owner Loukas, who also provides a lot of information and tips about the island. Very nice and clean room with a fantastic sea view from the balcony. Well-equipped bathroom and kitchenette. Some wonderful taverns, small supermarkets and the bakery are within a few minutes' walk. Two beautiful beaches are also within a short walk. In summary: Excellent and recommended for all people who want to visit this quiet and still Greek island.

“Beautiful, quiet, well-equipped rooms within easy walking distance from the town”

The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean, with a comfy bed, quiet mini fridge, large shower and well-equipped kitchenette. The terrace affords shade throughout the day and is perfect for sea-gazing. A narrow paved path takes you through the delightful garden down to the road that leads to the excellent, shallow town-beach and Donoussa port. There you can find a bakery, a couple of mini markets, a cash-point and a handful of taverns and restaurants. The town's main bar, Skantzohoiros (meaning 'hedgehog'), affords great views of the port and open sea, but can be a bit too loud in the evenings. Makares is on the edge of the town, where light-pollution is low, so, it's perfect also for star-gazing. Kedros beach (mostly nudist) is lovely and within walking distance. The path down to the beach is a little steep, but paved and easy to climb. The owner is very courteous and maintains both the property and the garden in tip-top condition. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a sweet little hedgehog that also seems to appreciate the garden.

Our second stay here so we new what to expect and weren’t disappointed. Clean, comfortable and stylish accomodation. Collected from/returnedvto port. Wonderful sea views and peaceful location, save for the sound of the waves.

The host Loukas was very friendly and helpful. Spacious and comfortable accommodation with a stunning sea view. Nice beaches and restaurants nearby. Suggest to visit the lovely shop of Loukas for beautiful clothes and accessories. We would definitely come back!

Loved the room. It had all the facilities . very clean and Luckas was very attentive and picked us up from the port...a lovely touch. Great view from the room and a decent sized terrace.

“EXCELLENT , Well worth a stay”

The communication with Loukas was excellent from the moment we booked, and he collected us from the port (and returned us when we left) Makares is on the outskirts of a very small town, but just a 5 min walk along the beach, and you're back at the centre. Our apartment had fantastic views across the sea and across to town. You can set off from here for a walk to Kedros beach 15 mins away. The town beach is beautiful, very sandy and a 200m swim across. The apartment had everything we needed to cook basic meals with a superb balcony with a table and chairs. We also had some chairs for sun bathing. The room had bedding and towels changed every 3 days. Loukas recommended beaches and told us about the bus service, etc They have a lovely shop in town as well. I can totally recommend this apartment and Donousa both a great stay

“Poor value for money, the pictures do not reflect the reality”

We were met at the port and taken to the rooms. The owner gave us an introduction to the island on arrival. The location was good, in between the port and the main beach, and the room was clean.
