Great hotel on the upper floor of a restaurant. Dongo is a bit far from the Greenway but still offers a charming stay close to the lake. Very clean and friendly staff

The hotel is in an exceptional location right near the lake. We had glorious views of the water from our room. There was street parking close by and the location was very walkable. Excellent breakfast and a very good lunch in the restaurant. Highly recommended and would stay again.

“Charming small hotel in the middle of a small town on the lake”

The hotel is in the middle of a town on the main road. It has its charm and nice for an overnight stay on the way to somewhere else, the location facing the lake is nice with a lovely morning sun

A very nice, clean and modern hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room we had was spacious and light with big windows and a big balcony on the side. A big pro is that the hotel also has a restaurant, which is perfect for lunch or dinner. The town itself is less popular and therefore less crowded, wich was perfect for us after a day of sightseeing.

Great location, newly renovated, soundproofing windows. Large rooms, including the bathroom. Small balcony overlooking square and marina. Efficient A/C.

The food in the restaurant is excellent as well as the service in the restaurant and the hotel. The beds are very comfortable.

“Incredible! highly recommend away from the crowds”

The people were incredibly friendly, which made the experience so much more welcoming as a solo traveller. Not only was I pleased to find a place that has an option for single prices for a room, they gave a surprise upgrade to a room with a view of the lake - and I was blown away by it. The location was perfect; while popular spots like Menaggio, Varenna, and Bellagio were nice to explore, they’re crowded so it was wonderful to retreat to a peaceful place like Dongo. Absolutely would recommend choosing Albergo Dongo over hotels in more popular places, though you have to plan ahead with ferries / buses, it’s worth it to have a peaceful retreat. Plus being the other side of the lake there’s less traffic on the ferry so you’re more likely guaranteed a spot over the popular routes to Como. Plus it’s so much more for your money with a modern room and breakfast included too!

“Simple room, but a good location”

The location is very good, right in front of the lake. Public parking is available, although paid. The breakfast was quite good, with diverse options and fresh orange juice.

New rooms. Very clean. Direct view on the lake. Directly located next to a busy street but no noise with closed windows. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety.
