Our host was supportive and engaging in our needs, assisting us in any activities exploring Dong Hoi and surrounds. Facilities are homely and simple but provided and met all our needs, the place was very clean and the 4 of us slept very comfortably within the room . Dong Hoi was one of our favourite places to visit whilst in Vietnam, especially our day trip to Phong Nha Caves which was kindly arranged by the host when we arrived, our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgable. We enjoyed the slower pace and less touristy aspect of Dong Hoi and had fantastic and memorable local foods in the town whilst there. We also loved our home cooked breakfasts each morning!

Everything was perfect. The room, the breakfast and dinner as well. Above all the hospitality and warm welcome. Unforgettable experience.

Spacious room, balcony was lovely, breakfast was great and a nice distance to everything around. We were given a map to explore Dong Hoi which helped with the limited time we had.

I really liked this hostel. It was owned by a lovely family who were all very helpful. The hostel offers breakfast and dinner, as well as tours. I highly recommend staying here.

Everything was just as advertised, the staff so helpful and the breakfast real good. We could do laundry and the terrace on the roof had an incredible view! Can recommend!

This is the best place we’ve stayed during our two weeks traveling around Vietnam. The family that hosted us was so loving and welcoming that we truly felt at home. The owner, Hoài, and her husband went out of their way to help us book tours and bus rides, since we were planning a cave tour in Phong Nha, one of the most breathtaking places we’ve seen in Vietnam. They also provided us with a map of the city, and their personal recommendations were always spot on. The room we got was very clean and had a beautiful view from the balcony, which added to the charm of the stay. The whole experience was peaceful, and we had so much fun. Plus, my girlfriend even got the tastiest little pastries from our host Hoài on International Women’s Day, which was such a sweet surprise! 😁

Hoài is the sweetest host you will ever find. I stayed 3 nights at her beautiful homestay, but I could have easily stayed for many more. From the moment I arrived, she has always made sure I had everything I needed. She gave me a very handy map of the nearby area with suggestions regarding what to do, the various sightseeing and where to eat. She has also recommended me an incredible tour in Phong Nha which I adored (and I'm not the one to ever do tours) and took care of everything. The breakfast was delicious (her omelette is the fluffiest, most delicious one I've ever had, to be honest) and she always invited me to have some snacks whenever I passed by (sugar cane, corn, bananas...). She let me use her bicycle for free whenever I needed it and kindly reheated (and beautifully plated) my leftovers a couple of times. The terrace overlooking the river is stunning and everything is very well curated. Her homestay is a real gem. Hoài also made sure to keep in contact with me to make sure I arrived at my next destination safely, which I was so very grateful about. The homestay itself is about 45km from Phong Nha, which is easily reachable by motorbike/local bus/private transfer. I was actually happy to have chosen a more quiet and out of the chaos homestay. Hoài has a big, big heart. I loved staying here and I would go back in a jiffy! I highly recommend Dolphin Home Homestay, you will not regret it!

This is a lovely accommodation run by a kind family. After exploring the area extensively for a couple days, I can say with certainty that the location is perfect. All your needs will be taken care of here. The rooftop terrace is lovely.
