“Outstanding”

The accommodation is really lovely, the bed is super comfortable, it has everything you need and it’s also very, very cheap. The family who run the place are amazing; the lady is called Dat and her children, Monday and Sunday, are always running about – they’re really fun and friendly, and always up for a game. Dat will always help you with anything and she speaks English very well. We used their laundry service, they rented us two bikes for 60,000 kip a day, they organised a tuk-tuk for us to leave on our last day, and they also have their own restaurant where they serve incredible food at a very good price. The location is perfect for relaxing, exploring the islands and enjoying the Mekong. I would definitely recommend it to everyone; it will enhance your Don Det experience and make it feel more authentic.

The staff was very helpful. The bungalows are very basic, but clean, with a comfortable bed. The location also was perfect for us, quiet but with easy access to the town and the different sites of the islands. They also provide laundry and bicycle rental, which we appreciated.

“Amazing place to stay”

The host is wonderful — kind, welcoming, and always happy to help if you need anything. The guesthouse restaurant is also excellent! The location is great, as it’s close to the bridge to Don Khon. You can also rent bikes directly at the guesthouse to explore the islands.

“It was ok for the price”

In general it was ok, located in very quiet area. The daughter was able to speak English and the staff seemed nice. You can rent bikes from them (they are very basic bikes), they rent them for 30k per person (there are cheaper options around the island) You can also book buses through them (they charge you small extra fee if you book with them), they charged us extra 1usd per person.

“A lovely and relaxing stay in Dondet”

This place stole my heart. Located on the sunrise side of Dondet, it’s the place where to relax and recharge. The room is clean and spacious, same goes for the bathroom. The terrace of the bungalow offers a lovely view directly on the Mekong river. Wifi is fast and stable, I could work and have online meetings without any issue (40/50 mbps). The family who owns the bungalows also owns the restaurant right in front. They are extremely friendly and willing to help for anything you may need. Laundry service is offered for 15k per kilo. The area is quiet — just few restaurants around. Across the bridge you can rent a bicycle for 15k per day. This area is about 30 minutes baking from the sunset side of the island. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will also definitely come back!

“Enjoyable stay”

Located close to Don Khon, at the far end of the touristy area. Room was sufficiently equipped. Room has mosquito nets and is equipped with fan.

We loved that the bungalows were at the less busy end of Don Det near the old French bridge. It’s a 2 minute walk to the bridge where you can see epic sunrises and sunsets! You can also access Don Khon very easily from the bridge. Bungalows are very simple but have everything you need for a stay on Don Det. They are very good value and mama has everything you need on offer - bicycle hire, laundry, tuk tuk and restaurant for a convenient breakfast.

Accommodation was really cheap.

Very nice place if you just want to relax away from the main village. It’s located on the very south of an island close to the bridge leading to the other island. Bicycle rentals available, laundry service available. All good overall.

We enjoyed the quietness of this part of the island and the view from the hammock.

You get what you pay for. It’s cheap so you can’t expect a lot. The rooms were relatively ok for the price but a fan room was just too hot for us. It’s also quite far from the pier .. at least a 45 minute walk however the positive side to that is you’re right next to the opposite island.

“Incredible value”

We loved staying in this simple bungalow on the quiet side of Don Det. We rented bikes every day from the owner for 20,000 kip. Laundry is cheap and fast. We thought we would struggle with just a fan but this wasn’t the case at all, especially since it gets quite cool at night.

Mama is wonderful! She is really careful and accommodating. I will miss her! The guesthouse is near the bridge going to Don Khone so you can explore both islands with the bikes you can rent for really cheap in Tavendang. The food they offer is amazing!!! Try the pizza! The family is so sweet and the hammock so nice to lie in. I would definitely recommend. Nice view also! I will come back :)

The room was clean and nice. The bed was comfortable with a mosquito net. The location was good, close to the bridge. The staff was very nice, and they were offering cheap bicycle.

Absolute Fantastic Value for Money. £10 for 3 Nts. Wonderful Family, great food. So helpful
