Loved it here, we immediately felt welcome, Maria and her family were really nice! Maria offered us a shot of homemade liquor and helped us plan our itinerary in Vikos, getting us to see beautiful things we would have missed otherwise.

We had a very pleasant stay at Roptro in Doliana. The apartment was nice, cozy, and well-kept, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Maria and Dimitris were very friendly and helpful, always available to answer our questions and offer advice. They also helped us plan our daily trips around Zagorohoria, which made exploring the area much easier. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d be happy to stay here again.

“A Warm, Authentic Stay with Wonderful Hosts”

We stayed at Maria and Dimitris’s lovely family-run hotel for six days with our three teenagers, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we’d made the right choice. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the whole place feels cared for with love and attention to detail. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. Every morning, Maria cooked a delicious homemade breakfast — something different and tasty each day — and even packed what we couldn’t finish for our day trips. Both Maria and Dimitris were incredibly kind and helpful, always checking in with us, offering great travel tips, and making sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is in a peaceful little village with no shops, but it offers a stunning sunset view and is only a short drive from a nearby town with everything you might need. It’s also a perfect base for exploring the Zagori region. We can’t recommend this place highly enough — amazing hospitality, great value, and a truly memorable experience. Thank you, Maria and Dimitris, for such a wonderful stay!

“Will be back for a longer stay at a home away from home”

Maria and her husband, with the help of Poppy, went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. Indeed, we felt very comfortable and pampered. The room was amazing in its size and decor, and the beds were the best we slept in during our whole trip!!! The dinner was very homey and hearty, and it was very relaxing to have it outside with all the other guests and locals who came to dine. We really wished we could stay longer and will sure come back for a longer stay.

Maria was an excellent host, offering great local tips and going above and beyond. Beautiful guesthouse, quiet location, good for star-based trips, a little aside from main route, good value for money.

“Fantastic place to see the mountains from”

The welcome was warm Room was lovely with a balcony and view over the village and beyond. Parking close. Breakfast was great, something new (baked) every morning plus home made jams, local honey Maria (and Poppy) were great, giving tons of advice on where and what to go and see and in order, plus maps and instructions. The recommended rafting trip and a walks were all great ideas and enjoyed. Dinner options were flexible and home cooked served out on the square in front with perfect sunsets and cold beer. The village was great, friendly, all the old guys swap sides of the street morning and night and all say Yassas as we go by!

The rooms and house are beautiful and in a gorgeous location. Maria and Poppy so helpful with all the information of the area. Absolutely delicious breakfast. Just loved it here.

“Unforgettable stay!”

First of all, the hotel is in perfect location if you want to explore Zagarochoria! Rooms are very nice, comfortable and you have all the amenities you might need! Breakfast is homemade and really delicious. Maria is the best host you could expect. She greets all the guests with love and care. Giving a full plan for each day what to explore and provides full guidance. We had a wonderful time and Maria made our stay really special.

ROPETRO IS a special place run by a special lady. I never came across with someone like Maria that helps, care and treats her guests like family. The breakfast is amaizing... higly recommended!!!

I doubt I could have found a better place to stay even with lots of planning. Maria my host is the model host, nothing is too much trouble and uses Google translate very well. So there was no language issues. The other staff are also fantastic. Oh I strongly recommend eating here if you can, Maria is an excellent cook.

Roptro is a delightful little guest house and this was our second visit. We were delighted to see Maria again, looking just as young as in 2018. A shame her brother Dimitris was away. Our room was beautiful with a lovely little private balcony. Maria's cooking was excellent and breakfast was a delight. Maria and her assistant Pedro gave us lots of help with planning our stay and we visited some vey pretty villages and surrounding areas.

I’ve met a number of great hosts in my trips by no one was as good as Mrs Maria! She called us midway to propose itineraries on the way to the property. Always with a smile. Cooks amazing dinners (pizzas and salads). Breakfast served felt like a home gathering and tasted wonderful. Even provided us with a small gift upon departure! Room was perfect for a night’s stay with big comfortable bathroom. Amazing overall experience and highly recommended.

“Quiet and friendly place with attention to detail”

We visited Roptro only for one night because the next day we were going to visit Drakolimni.Maria, the owner is super sweet, nice and helpfull. She called us to confirm the time of arrival and suggested places to visit. She also welcome us with local liquer and there was also racki in the room. Despite the fact that we left earlier, she prepared coffee and cakes in order to have a taste of breakfast. When we will be again in the area we will visit her for sure. The room was spacious. The AC was working very well and there was also a fridge and area to work if you'd like. It is also very easy to find parking around.
