Experience the peace and quiet of the Belgian countryside at the Bed en Breakfast le freyr. Enjoy excellent local food at this family-run hotel in the valley of the Haute Meuse. The hotel is located at 6,7 km from the train station of Dinant. Forget about your daily worries and take off to this cosy, small-scale hotel to spend a relaxing holiday in its scenic environment. Weather permitting, you can sit out in the garden with a cold or hot drink and read a book. Less than a 5-minute drive will take you to the Citadel of Dinant, the cave "La merveilleuse" or the abbey of Leffe. Alternatively, you can follow some of the most beautiful hiking paths in the country or hop on your bike to explore the neighbourhood. Go down the River Lesse by Kayak. The starting point is only 2 km away. In the evenings, you can dine in the charming restaurant and enjoy fine, "grand-mother style" Belgian cuisine and seasonal dishes prepared by the chef. The bar is available for drinks and offers a free WiFi connection.

“Nothing particularly outstandingly good but nothing bad either.”
Good sized room . Comfortable beds. Shower good, but a little difficult to get heat right, either too hot or too cold. Fridge in room was useful where we kept milk for using the provided tea and coffee making facility. Breakfast we found adequate, unusual in that it lacked cereals although a nice omelette was provided with ham and cheese available as a filler. Coffee machine made a good coffee. Only a few rooms and only one or two other guests from time to time during our 6 night stay, so we were mainly left to our own devices although the room was maintain daily with clean towels as required along with the rubbish bin cleared etc. A previous review had noted poor WiFi but we found it very adequate including playing television programmes from various apps on our tablet. As a British couple this was just as well as the TV programmes provided by the room TV appeared to be all French or Belguim channels.

“Nice place away from the town but to far to walk it you want to enjoy the bars”
Lovely location. Really nice room and very clean and tidy. Plenty of parking and the owner allowed me to park my motorbike behind the property. The food is really good and I recommend the mixed grill

“Nice room, good staff, good evening meal, but poor wifi and basic breakfast.”
We ate there in the evening and the food was excellent. Also good choice of beers. Breakfast a bit disappointing after the evening meal.

“Excellent stay over”
Lovely spacious room with a big bathroom and tea and coffee/ water. Breakfast was good and we also ate in the restaurant which was excellent - staff were friendly and very accommodating, food and atmosphere was great. They let us park the motorbike securely round the back of the Hotel which was also vey much appreciated. A nice quiet spot and a great view of Le Freyr.

Really large, scrupulously clean rooms. Large bathrooms. Restaurant is superb - we recommend mussels & all the desserts! Across road from beautiful viewpoint & Belgium’s premier crag (for those interested in climbing)!
