Overview
Housed in a renovated 19th century mansion, Kato Machalas is located in scenic Dikorifo Village of Zagori. The stone-built guesthouse is surrounded by a blossomed courtyard and offers traditionally decorated accommodation with views over Mount Mitsikeli. Featuring painted wood or beamed ceilings and earthy colours, the individually decorated rooms and suites of Kato Machalas come with an LCD TV and a safety deposit box. Most units have a fireplace, while all of them include a private bathroom stocked with free toiletries. Guests can enjoy their breakfast at the stone-paved courtyard or in their rooms upon request. Traditional taverns and café can be found within 200 metres of the property. Kato Machalas is situated 37 km from Ionannina Town and 30 km from Ioannina National Airport. The impressive Vikos Gorge lies within 22 km, while the picturesque Ano Pedina Village is at 17 km. Staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide information on sights and activities in the area.

“Wonderful place and hosts”
The hosts are generous, kind and very helpful. The building and rooms are beautiful and kept spotless. I felt welcome and cared for during our visit. The breakfast is huge including local products some of which are grown in the hosts' gardens.

“we had a great time!”
The owner is a very sweet man! Although he does not speak english, we used google translate and he helped us find whatever we needed. the room was clean, the bed was comfy, the shower had lots of hot water. Also, he asked us every morning what time we want our breakfast and what we like to eat and made it for us!

“Best stay ever!”
We had never stayed in a place that really felt like home, until our stay at Kato Machalas. The owners are very nice, accomodating and helpful, and really go the extra mile for making their guests feel comfortable. They prepare the best breakfast ever, are ready with suggestions for trips in the area, and they keep the rooms super clean. There is access to a common kitchen and a beautiful terrasse with nice views. Moreover, the hotel is located in a quiet and picturesque village away from the buzz of the area. The restaurant of the village offers tasty food at very reasonable prices. Everything was better than perfect - we would love to come back!
