“Beautiful location and great breakfast, but rooms need updating”

The setting of Digby Pines is spectacular, and the classic, old-world chateau vibe is very unique. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the breakfast buffet was top-notch with excellent quality and selection.

The food and breakfast buffet equaled the idea of a grand hotel. The bar staff upstairs was knowledgeable, very efficient, and friendly. The nightly music and entertainment were amazing. The spa staff was incredible, and the facility was impressive except for some very noticeable defects. As a grand hotel in the style of the old Canadian Pacific Railway hotels, like its compatriots, the Algonquin and Banff Springs, it does not feel like it is keeping up this level of service and care.

Food was excellent. Had a wonderful evening meal and breakfast - both excellent. Comfortable beds - wonderful views of the Bay. Enjoyed a walk in the woods to the lookout.

The location, the dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast were excellent. However the condition of the room we stayed in did not meet our expectations especially the bathroom.

We loved our stay at the Digby Pines and Golf Resort and Spa and would definitely recommend staying here!! They have everything to offer for a relaxing and romantic getaway. The staff is just wonderful. The elevator was broken upon arrival, but they offered to bring our luggage to the room. The room itself is a bit more traditional, but had everything we needed and fits within the concept of the accomodation. We had a great night sleep in the comfy beds and woke up to the sublime smell of the breakfast buffet, which was so delicious and really extensive (pancakes, pastries, eggs benedict, and even an omlet station)! The domain was absolutely beautiful. We took a walk to the beach and enjoyed a game of giant chess. Also, it is a 5 min drive to the centre of Digby, a cute town with cosy little shops and reastaurants (must try: Digby scallops and lobster). Also perfect location if you are planning to go whale spotting on Brier Island. We could not have enjoyed our stay more!

“Avoid at all cost”

The standard queen room was desperately in need of updating, with a squeaky bed, moldy grout, no active ventilation, and a single pane window that had been caulked closed many years ago. We were placed on the top floor, at the end of the hall in a small room that had a closed adjoining door, and the elevator was broken. The bellman disappeared every time we moved baggage. At 11:45 pm an Asian family with whiney small kids entered the adjoining room, even tried to open the adjoining door. At 6:30 am they awoke and left. All I could think of was human trafficking. Dinner and breakfast were good but not outstanding. Dinner was overpriced and the waitress, although good throughout, noticeably ignored us after we asked for the bill, helping out multiple other tables before bringing the bill. The coffee at breakfast was truly horrific. We overpaid for this place by booking through this website. I spoke to the manager about it and she said she could do nothing about the price because of the third party booking but she did give us a break on the dinner by about 20%. Should be avoided before extensive renovations, or at least call and request an updated room if they have one.
