This is an absolutely stunning, unique and special property. We ended our honeymoon trip here and it couldn’t have been a more perfect way to finish it. The house and views are so beautiful, breathtaking even. The room was spotless and the pool area is just outstanding. A generous and full spread for breakfast was also delightful and everyone in the family was so warm and welcoming. We felt truly looked after and would love to come back here.

Dear Safron House Team, we honestly don’t even know where to begin thanking you for these fantastic four days. The last time we stayed with you was 10 years ago, when we celebrated our wedding here. Now we came back to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The world and Hiriketiya have changed completely over the years — but not Safron House. The house, the ambiance, the atmosphere — everything is just as special as it was back then. In fact, it has become even more beautiful. The amazing breakfasts, with a different Sri Lankan specialty every day, were outstanding. And the dinners prepared just for us by Chris were without a doubt the best local food we have had anywhere in Sri Lanka. The quality of the service has remained at the same exceptionally high level. Chris, now together with her daughters, still runs Safron House with so much warmth, joy, and passion. We could honestly write pages about everything we loved during our stay. But to keep it short: 10 years ago it was wonderful — and unlike so many places in the world, it has not deteriorated by even a millimeter. Quite the opposite: it has become even more beautiful and even better. A true oasis of peace and outstanding quality in the middle of what has now become a very lively Hiriketiya. Anyone looking for tranquility, genuine hospitality, and top quality should absolutely book Safron House. Thank you so much for these unforgettable days. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the infinity pool was a real highlight. The location was perfect—close enough to easily walk everywhere. The family who runs the hotel were incredibly warm, friendly, and always happy to help. Their delicious local breakfasts each morning were a fantastic way to start the day. We would happily stay here again.

“Piece of paradise amongst Hiriketiya surf beach”

We absolutely loved this place and would return in a heart beat. Geraldine and her family team on site made sure our stay was comfortable and cooked us great breakfasts. The kids loved the pancakes and egg hoppers! We chose this as great location to the beach (just down the hill 5 mins) so kids could learn to surf yet you could get away and switch off in the garden grounds, play in the pool and listen to the monkeys and waves. Lovely grounds, comfy beds and all in all a great place to stay with such friendly staff. Was one of our favourite places we stayed in in Sri Lanka.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. One of the best accomodations we had in Sri Lanka. Location is perfect. It is in Walking distance between Dickwella and Hiriketeya, so whatever you please you can walk there. Beds where the most comfortable of all our stays and good for tall people! We stayed mostly indoors to enjoy the venue. Views are stunning and staff is so nice! You can see an Amazon sunrise from the rocks you could enter from the garden fence. I could not fault a thing.

Everything was above our expectations. Beautiful rooms, a swimming pool, wonderful breakfasts, and exceptionally kind and helpful staff. Breathtaking views.

We had a wonderful stay at Saffron House. The staff were fantastic and treated us like family. Stunning views, privacy, huge rooms with a great outdoor bathroom / shower and infinity pool with comfy sun loungers. Breakfast was AMAZING - probably the best we had in Sri Lanka! Would 100% recommend staying here - it is a total hideaway in Hiriketiya!

The Saffron House was absolutely amazing! From the warm welcome to the spacious, beautifully designed room, everything was perfect. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious and beautifully prepared. The location is ideal, nestled between two stunning beaches, and the view from the pool is simply breathtaking. Whether relaxing by the water or exploring the area, every moment felt like a dream. I can’t wait to return!

This place was our FAVOURITE! It is a hidden gem - a slice of paradise!! We were so impressed by our stay - the views are incredible, with the pool and the sea, and as there are only a few rooms, it's super spacious and you feel it's very private. Staff were super helpful and accommodating, making us an early breakfast as we headed off the airport. Delicious breakfast and excellent location. Would absolutely recommend to everyone!

loved the property - we rented one of the 4 rooms in the property. Ours faced onto the pool, with great views out to sea. The fact that there are few rooms meant that often we had the infinity pool to ourselves. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Lovely gardens. Felt really private. Local breakfast with fresh fruit - delicious.

An oasis of green and calm away from the very busy Heriketiya beach . Chris , Geraldine and Josh were so welcoming, caring and helpful. They really looked after me after I took a tumble .
