Location

The hotel is directly located on a beautiful quiet beach and has a beautiful environment. Mahesh, the manager and his team are trying to support whenever they can. Mahesh booked me very nice treatments and gave me a transfer with his scooter whenever possible. Very good and friendly guy. You can trust him and never need to have a feeling it is about money. It is about guest relations. I will come back☺️

Ocean Gateway Dickwella was our second destination in Sri-Lanka after Kosgoda in the west. Located not far from the main Dickwella beach (which we didn’t like, by the way) in Bathigama Bay, it is a real gem of Sri-Lankan shore. A stunning property right on the beach with a hypnotizing view on the Mighty Ocean. A really nice and quiet place for introverts and those who don’t like crowds and loud music. We stayed in a room for 4 persons without direct view to the ocean, but it’s not really needed. You can walk out of the room and sit in a comfortable chair watching the beauty. The room is nice, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is big and there was always hot (with strong pressure!) water in the shower. It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room, though, but not critical. A kettle, hair dryer and socket adaptors were provided by the owner upon the arrival. The host, Mahesh, is the most wonderful person! He is Mr. Cook, Mr. Manager and Mr. Pleasant Companion in one face! Although I ended up not liking Sri-Lankan cuisine too much, the Devilled chicken and fried bananas were wonderful! 150 meters from the hotel is the Turtle Beach where we spent a lot of time snorkeling. There are also a couple of café’s on the beach near-by and a small food store just across the street from the hotel. Thank you for the wonderful time we spent at Ocean Gateway Dickwella!

“A best place to stay in Dickwella”

A fantastic place to stay in Dickwella. Located Right in front of the beach 🤩. The hosts were super friendly. The accommodation is modern, clean and well-presented/maintained—super comfy beds. We’ll stay there again on future trips to Dickwella. Exceptional service and lovely touches make your stay memorable but with that personal, genuine touch. I would recommend it without hesitation. ♥️

“Great beach front property”

Amazing location, spacious and clean rooms, staff were very friendly. Out of the hustle of Dickwella and Hiriketiya, but it is possible to walk to both, or get a short tuk tuk. Perfect just to use as a base for exploring the area and beaches. Very quiet area

This was the best place I stayed in Sri Lanka. The showers were hot and good pressure, brand new air conditioning, big room with comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and went out their way for me. The food was exceptional. And to step outside and be on the beach in seconds was pure heaven 😍

“Hidden gem of Sri Lanka”

This place exceeded our expectations regarding accommodation itself, location and staff. Rooms are like on the picture, they do not lack coziness and comfort, I would compare it to European 4 stars. They had some minor, mostly cosmetical imperfections, but water was having a strong flow, always hot, AC was clean and bed was comfortable. The other very important part is the restaurant with so far the best food we had in Sri Lanka in regards of choice ( seafood, pork, chicken), taste and value for money ratio. It was very convenient to have lunch there without need to to wait somewhere for more then an hour, as you can simply go swim while it's being prepared. They also organized for us a wedding dinner, that was abundant (we had enough for next day breakfast and lunch for 8 people) , super tasty and included every desire we had for a very good price. This all is thanks to the amazing staff and manager of this place. It was very easy to deal with them(even with people who did not have perfect English) , they really tried to make sure we are happy and enjoying our stay, what is in general a very valuable trait in Sri Lanka. We can highly recommend this place even for a longer stay because it is so relaxing and everything you need is by your hand

The location was perfect , right on the beach very rustic and beautiful , you can hear the waves at night - simplicity is everything . The staff /chef was so friendly very, accommodating and he went out of his way for me . beach is quiet tranquil spot sweat from the busy c xx ?. beach so perfect . A short walk down the beach to the next beach you can see turtles swimming in their natural environment , a local man looks after them and makes sure tourists are not harming them , definitely a must see . breakfast was delicious , a great little spot in nature on the beach .
