“Balcony with views of Dickwella beach”
Lovely place, run by a very caring family that's always ready to give great local recommendations, help organise transport, and even surprise us with a nice cup of tea every now and then. Proximity to more peaceful Dickwella beach is great. We loved the breezy balcony with views of the beach- and the ability to make our own breakfast in the kitchen below. The fridge stocked with cold water, beers and snacks (for sale for a very reasonable price) is also great.

“Great stay, would recommend”
The owner was lovely. We were staying in a non-AC room and found it was too stuffy with just the fan. We messaged the owner who managed to move us into the AC room next door no problem! He was very accommodating and the rooms were lovely. Location was good, about a 7 min walk to Hiriketiya beach and 10 mins to Dickwella beach. There’s a small shop on site to buy snacks, water and even beers which was a nice touch.

“Excellent experience, would recommend”
My girlfriend and I stayed at Mount Top for 5 nights for our stay in Hiriketiya/Dikwella and it was fantastic. The room we stayed in was very spacious with a huge comfy bed and a standard bathroom. There is a very cute communal outside area where you can eat breakfast and chat to others staying there. The location is excellent as it is very near many delicious restaurants and cafes as well as being close to both Hiriketiya and Dikwella beach. The family that hosted us were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, giving us free tea and bananas whenever we would get back from a long day out and giving us advice on places to eat and quick routes to take to nearby destinations when we arrived. I would recommend Mount Top to anyone visiting and would 100% stay again.

“Friendly staff, quiet location”
The host was very friendly, brought us tea and arranged everything for us. Located in a quiet part of hireketiya but can walk to good restaurants on the beach.

“Sunny, calm and windy”
Amazing windy property on a height. You would love sitting in the verandah, sleep on the hammock and different types of reclining chairs. Host makes you feel like home. You can buy beer and ask him for taxi, rental bikes, surfing lessons at much cheaper price.

“Comfortable stay with good location”

We loved our stay at Mount top. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our host was amazing, he was so kind and attentive. He regularly brought us tea and coffee and answered any questions we had quickly. The location is amazing too, walking distance to the beach and bars/restaurants.

The host was very friendly, he would bring us a tea and have general chats with us about how the day has gone and what activities we have been upto. He also was a massive help with our onward travel and even arranged for a man to drive us to the correct bus stop and wait with us until the correct bus arrived as it wasn't a standard bus. The room was great and the Aircon and fan did a great job of keeping us cool. They have a little shop at the hostel with snacks and drink at a fair price.

“Great value stay in Hiriketiya”
We booked the family suite and it was great value for two travellers to have their own bed. The beds were comfortable and the mosquito nets came in very handy. The most positive element of this stay is the location, positioned halfway between Hiriketiya beach and Dickwella beach but far enough away from the former to avoid the noise. This was also a great price compared to other accommodations in the area. We didn’t see the owner much but he was really friendly despite his limited English and let us keep our bags in storage after check out.

Property is in a great location, close to the beach and the restaurants but still peaceful. My room had a nice view of Dikwella beach. Very nice people running the guesthouse, he gave me a ride to the blue beach the morning I checked out and allowed me to keep my bags there all day. He also recommended an amazing massage therapist and also helped me plan my travel route beyond Hiriketiya, very caring!

“Amazing stay”
The best accommodation on our trip to Sri Lanka! Spacious and comfortable room for four, and everything was very clean. They also had a refrigerator if you needed water or beer at very good prices, which was very useful. A two-minute walk from the center and in a quiet area. The owner was lovely, we would have loved to stay longer.

“Great place for the price”
We booked two rooms for three nights at the hotel. The family room is quite large with two king-size beds. It's clean, has a balcony, air conditioning, and a decent bathroom. Value for money! We loved the location, not far from two wonderful beaches. The walk from the beaches is uphill, but that's not a problem for us young people. The grounds are beautiful, and the hosts are always available and willing to help with anything. You can order breakfast, or they even cooked some meals for us. There's a shared kitchen and a large refrigerator. The grounds are quiet and peaceful. Radite arranged airport transfers for us; he's very helpful with everything. We'll definitely stay again next time! I highly recommend it!
